Who: Before And After #1465 / Nu-Who #524
Name: Stephen Fry [1957 - ]
Year(s): 2020
Stories: Spyfall: Part One
Character(s): 'C'
Note(s):
  • Provided the voice of the Minister of Chance in the 2002 'Doctor Who' webcast 'Death Comes to Time'
  • Wrote the initial script for 'The 1920's' for 'Doctor Who's second series (2005 ? 2006). Believing the episode would be too expensive, Russell T moved it to the third series so that it could be rewritten. However, the story was never made as Fry could not find the time to make the necessary alterations. [The story place was ultimately filled with 'Fear Her']
  • Was a great friend of both Douglas Adams and Lalla Ward. Introduced Lalla to her future husband Richard Dawkins at one of Adams' parties
  • In June 2010, he stirred controversy in Who-dom in a speech where he described programmes such as 'Doctor Who' as "wonderfully written" but "not for adults". Steven Moffat responded by saying the show was "was designed specifically to be a family programme, that's what it's for".
  • In a throwaway gag in the 2015 Christmas Special 'The Husbands of River Song', the Twelfth Doctor cites Fry as being one of the past husbands of River Song. This effectively includes him as one of the "historical" figures ? like William Shakespeare, Charles Dickens, Cleopatra, Elizabeth I and Vincent Van Gogh ? known to exist within the Whoniverse

Apparently the name of the character being played by Jinkx Monsoon is Maestro

This is leading some fans to suggest that she might actually be the Eleventh Master !

I don't know. Its a nice outfit but don't think jinx is good enough without being camping it up. Then again I wasn't impressed with John sim and definitely hated Sacha dhawan's take so could be ok.

You can tell i've only seen these Whitaker episodes the one time other than Resolution.

Other than Lenny Henry, Siobhan Finneran and Big, i don't remember any of the other actors being in it at all. Even Stephen Fry.

I think I have only seen all of Jodie's episodes once, but that it down to time constraints and logistics more than anything.

Most of them I didn't even see on first screening - I had to wait until I managed to get the DVD releases

I also need to catch up with some of David's later ones, and the Ncuti episode !

Susan Foreman 13th April 2024 01:04 PM

Varada Sethu has been confirmed as the new companion

"No details have been given for Sethu's character, but the BBC has released pictures of her alongside Ncuti and Millie at a table read for a forthcoming episode."
