Indeed. A very interesting character, one of a kind. A Cyberman who retained his identity AND his sanity. Pity he appeared so little, was worthy of his own spin off.

He is obviously in the new graphic novel you picked up.

I had to dredge the name up from the edge of my sanity.

He's not actualy, he travelled with 8th not 7th. Alas we never found out what happened to him after he left the Doctor. He truely does desserve his own time on the series. Interesting how many third party characters are becoming canon. Izzy, Fey, Shade, Klein. It seem's the writers are trying to tie everything together.

No original Doctors involved huh..I can't believe I am saying this but this never would have gone down like this on Davies watch. Moffat is dropping the ball big time and I can't believe I am getting through this post without some more..ummm colourful phrases.

Matt Smith is an amazing doctor to bad he's got Moffat as a showrunner because the 50th anniversary is being ruined by Moffats huge ego and poor Smith is caught in the middle.

(statement will only be retracted if I see original doctors and companions in the 50th anniversary episode..if not Moffat can gladly leave)

Really enjoyed Cold War.

Hawkmonger 13th April 2013 06:12 PM

There was alot I liked about this episode. It felt claustrophobic for a start, it's was dark and wet and confined and the direction suited it well. The Ice Warrior was an excelent redesign and he sounded great! But then there was that moment when my heart sank, when he escpaed his armour. I was really hoping they wouldn't fall back on this, but seriously? I don't think it came off to badly at all. Save for the incorrect no. of digits between the armour and forearm I thought they made a good move keeping him mostly in the shadows. But the face didn't need to be CGI, a mix of it and practical FX would have sufficed. Clara still isn't gelling with me though, I just can't like her. On the plus I don't hate her like Rose. The supporting cast where a nice selection also. Best of series 7 so far I think.

The pace of this story was near perfect - a rare 45 minute Who that didn't feel either rushed or padded. Excellent redesign of the Ice Warrior and a real surprise to have him leaving his armour. Mark Gatiss has turned a monster that wasn't one of my favourites into something pretty special. A definite highlight of the season so far.
