Of all modern sitcoms I can think of I enjoyed I can only name The Royal Family, Hebburn, The IT Crowd and The Big Bang Theory. Simply terrible times for comedy.
REALLY?? The Thick Of It, Getting On, Burnistoun, Catterick, Modern Family, Louie, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Veep (well, half of it....) to name just a few. IMO.

The majority of those are US comedy, I think it's difficult to find good quality UK TV comedy these days, every now and then there is something great, but since Green Wing and The IT Crowd it's been slim pickings - saying that though, a lot of these older 60's and 70's shows aren't that funny either though, there were a few gems from that era and I disagree with censorship completely and they should be left alone but you can't say explicitly that 'golden era' comedy is better than modern comedy or vice versa.

There is crap now and there was crap then - but everything should be left alone to be the way they once were.

Couldn't have put it better myself!
There was crap then, jut in general there's alot more crap in proportion to great stuff now. The only comedys i've enjoyed since the fall of Only Fools and Horses and The Vicar od Dibly are Mrs. Browns Boys, The IT Crowd and Hebburn. Prity much everything else is offencive and not in the inoccent, ironic way either (which, interestingly, stuff like Faulty Towers and Monty Python where. Next they'll be banning dad's Army for unflattering depiction of The Home Guard. Utter bollocks.)
