American Horror Story. #
Whilst trying to battle a horrible cold, I went through the first series of this quite quickly. Confusing and a little generic in places, I felt that the "twists" were too obvious, and the so called "shocking" element was tacked on to differentiate it from Fear Itself etc. Some decent scenes early on were sadly dimished by repetition and overacting imo.

All in all, a tired premise given a new coat of paint. Must dig out "The Sentinel" (Winner) methinks cough splutter cough.

Steve coogan and Rob brydon, directed by michael winterbottom travel around top restaurants in the north (including a couple not far from me!) Each episode centres around them eating dinner and talking with occasional asides as they deal with their private lives.

Given the amount of crap life is throwing at me these days I REALLY enjoyed this. If you dont like coogan or brydon you will probably hate it though.

I too loved The Trip.

when it was on a couple of years ago it was essential Monday night viewing. Very funny, and poignant in places.

I understand they are off to Italy for a second series.

Perhaps they'll do impressions of Milian, Merli, Nero and Testi across the table to each other.

As long as Brydon gets to do his Pacino face again. That cracks me up every time, and I normally HATE impressions  . . .
