Default The five rarest VHS horror movies

Not sure if this has been posted already, but the Movie Waffler has a short article on the rarest horror VHS.

The Movie Waffler

Anybody here possess one of these tapes?

A collector i know well had a copy of Snuff. Don't think he had the others, though it was a long time ago.

Damn! I was hoping for a pic of Frankie's Castle of Freaks on JVI or maybe Naschy's Dracula Vs Frankenstein on Intervision.

This is an American article relating to American releases, which, I'll admit, I know hardly a thing about. SNUFF and NIGHTMARE wouldn't be in the top five rarest UK releases. Marc Morris (of Nucleus Films) had a rare UK release of LAST HOUSE ON DEAD END STREET (as FUNHOUSE) on Betamax - that's one of the rarest I've seen - it never came out, actually and I think he ended up getting about £650 for it when he sold it on eBay!

I like to nosey on pre cert site

You see people buy are sell films for 1 2 hundred pound.
And occasionaly ppl link films being sold on ebay and now and again you see some reaching 4 5 pound mark.
Things are worth nothing really there only worth what people are prepared to pay.

Paul, is the the one (LHODES) that didn't even have a cover and was basically black typeface on a white background?

I'll admit that I was slightly confused by the article as it was referencing 18 certificates but it referred to Nightmares in a Damaged Brain by the American title, Nightmare.

So, what is the rarest or most prized VHS you own? Before I threw out my VHS to make way for DVDs, I used to have a copy of Fright Night 2. I know it's not worth much but going how much the DVD is, I really wish I held onto it.

I used to import banned vhs from Cult Video in Amsterdam.

A Clockwork Orange was my prized possession!
