Black Caesar is indeed a very cool film, and the sequel is quite good as well.

I think out of all the blaxsploitation that I've seen the Shaft trilogy, Truck Turner and The Mack are amongst my favourites. Black Belt Jones is a lot of fun too with a fantastic opening sequence. It was directed by the bloke who also directed Bruce Lee in Enter the Dragon.

BLACK CAESAR is a very decent film and the nice thing is you can find it for a few bucks

It's an excellent homage/spoof of early blaxploitation films, and Michael Jai White is brilliantly deadpan in the lead.

This film looks amazing and i'm only glad i've got the R1 DVD. Just need the time to watch it!

Based on that black-tastic trailer i'm now quite tempted to buy the BR release too! Great stuff!!;)

Penitentiary

Has anyone seen Penitentiary directed by Jamaa Fanaka? Is the UK DVD from Arrow any good?

I would recomend Super Fly and any of the Dolomite/Human Tornado movies.

Fight for you're Life, even though it can be uncomfortable to watch at times.

Haha I just found out that Anthony Quinn (of ACROSS 110th STREET fame) was actually born Antonio Rodolfo Quinn Oaxaca, born in Chihuahua, Mexico... his mother being of Aztec origin and his father a revolutionary who rode with Pancho Villa!

Sounds like an exciting family. Anyway, anyone who shares my cult-labs name has got to be cool :woot::tongue1:

On a side note, he kind of reminds me of Jack Klugman (Quincy)

I own The Human Tornado and would recommend it any day.

This may have been suggested already, but Jack Hill's Coffy is great.
