Very true, but then again I'm a bit of a so-bad-it's-amazing fan.

Groovy  Will definitely have to give this one a watch when I get chance. Not only looks entertaining but seems like the sort of thing certain academics would have a field day writing about. Cheers again for the heads up there BZ! :)

That film looks great! Looks gritty like Across 110th Street (my fave blaxsploitation flick) :D

I really cant recommend TSWSBTD enough. I think it was unavable due to its controversial content for a long time, and that's why it's not more widely popular.

I'm still waiting for my dvd to come through the post. It has a bunch of extras which, which I'm really looking forward to seeing as I want to find out more about the film.

Not seen that one either yet but love the Bobby Womack tune of the same name (which I'm assuming is from the film right?) that Tarantino used over the opening titles in Jackie Brown.

Your right yeah. Damn that tune is catchy!

"Across 110th Street,
Pimps trying to catch a woman that's weak
Across 110th Street,
Pushers won't let the junkie go free.
Across 110th Street,
Woman trying to catch a trick on the street.
Across 110th Street,
You can find it all in the street.

Everyone loves Shaft, Slaughter and SuperFly...

My favourites....

Cotton Comes to Harlem - vibrant & energetic
Sweet Sweetback's Baadasssss Song - downright meanspirited!

Both from 1971....before the descriptive term 'blaxploitation' was coined and became the genre we all love....

Also....look out for Ganja & Hess and Top of the Heap!

I'm not sure if any of the above have had a UK release....all worth looking out for...

I've noticed VCI is issuing an anniversary DVD of Dr.Black And Mr.Hyde shortly. Yours truly caught this oddity many youthful moons ago on the Mogul VHS label as Serum (Test Tube Terror, great title there imo!) sporting a rather nice cover if i recall rightly. I wasn't too impressed with the film at the time but i may just give this effort a second chance seeing as i do like the always watchable Bernie Casey.:)

There's an official French dvd it seems, just mailed the company (who have also released other titles) to ask if the French subs are optional.
