I have no idea what kind of Christmas they had - I'm just saying without a store network stocking cult titles in the UK we can kiss goodbye to such releases - you really need the impulse, browsing crowd - hence why so much time and effort goes into making Arrow and Shameless titles stand out.

Well,I reckon there was a few Shameless titles sold in the Glasgow Fort branch.
On Christmas eve, they were well stocked up.
All gone on the 27th....

That you buying up all the copies in the stores again Reaper?

The bottom line is,If all Shameless release is obscure films that not a lot of people have heard of and don't purchase, they'll have to shut up shop...and none of us want that.

Nope shoplifting again.

Exactly.
I'll bet NEW YORK RIPPER,TORSO,FLAVIA,KILLER NUN and NIGHT TRAIN MURDERS financially paved the way for the likes of FOOTPRINTS,OASIS OF FEAR and THE FRIGHTENED WOMAN.

Shameless should start all their titles as Harry Potter and... and then they'd sell millions of copies!

Some great points here guys - and I agree; you need the bread and butter titles like NYR etc to pave the way for the obscure gems like Footprints etc. DVD production coupled with the current state of the UK retail market are risky businesses to be in and I, personally think Shameless has done a teriffic job so far - so keep up the great work guys!

P.S. Almar - have you tried pitching Shameless titles to WHSmith! () - which is probably (laughably) the second* biggest DVD highstreet retailer since Virgin and Zavvi went tits up.

*until loops gets his shop up and running anyway

Too right!

WHSmith don't have a clue about pricing. I got The Children of the Corn Trilogy from them for £3 (not long after release) but I've seen bargain bin titles like Casino Royale selling for £25! Madness!

It's a good idea but safe to say WH Smith would never take them - fingers crossed Loops does!
