Probably right mate,it was rated PG in the states, not for Shameless at all really.....not Foster when the most famous actors at Shameless's stable have been a two foot critter from the shitter and an old shotgun wielding bastard in a cardie....VIOLENZA!!!!

Now me and Mr Reaper have cleared the air over my mistimed punchline (and I thought I could write comedy, see BIB blog link below) we were talking American exploitation here so I though I would stick in a few more thoughts.

The problem with American exploitation is this- its golden age was probably the 50s and 60s, the best stuff is already distributed, much is public domain, and there was a ruch of grindhouse films in the 70s. Stuff that played my local cinema week after week- blaxploitation and (non american) kung fu flicks seemed a favourite. But how much falls in shameless territory?

Well to be honest I don't know what Shameless is about beyond my area- which is Italian genre cinema, now trying to squeeze American stuff in a similar mould is not impossible but would take a pretty keen eye- its eay to spot a great jaws rip off from Italy (last shark) or a first blood/deliverance - blastfighter, but tougher to spot an american equivilant.

There seems to be a big love in here for Night of the Demon
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0081229/usercomments-34

but where to go with this is another question- some mentioned Gatorbait, I dunno I am out of my comfort zone. I like stuff like Big Bird Cage, but isn't that sort of 70s grindhouse stuff already covered- especially since tarantino has re popularised american b movies.

Its a tough call, just thought I'd spring this thread alive again. Slashers etc should be overlooked because to put it mildly they have been done to death by other firms except the titles maybe the extremely market savvy americans thought unmarketable.

I dont want to overstate what was in what was in private correspondance between almar and myself but I did mention to the dude the exchange rates and the benefits that can be gained. to you guys I hope the knowledge of the titles will make this real, before the exchange rate changes again and we all are considering zimbabwean exploitation flicks.

What about Mexican exploitation film as theres a lot of stuff unsean by many here in the UK.
Apart from Bloody apes and the Santo's films little Mexican exploitation stuff has come UK collectors way.

There's also Pillipino horror / exploitation film thats never seen the light of day here in the UK.

Though personally i'd like Shameless to remain Euro film, particularly Italian with maybe the odd French, Spanish classic thrown into the mix, even the odd Brit Flick.

If the odd US title is gonna be featured some months then how about some Andy Milligan.

Its a pity someone has got the rights to SNUFF as its not available from Blue Underground anymore according to their 08 catalogue .
With it already being certified uncut by the BBFC it would make a good Shameless title.

Milligan's Blood Rites (The Ghastly Ones) would be a choice title, owing to its former video nasty status.

Stephen King once described it as "the work of morons with cameras". .
