The cast is sheer class with Stacy Keach playing alcoholic ex copper Jim Naboth,who is forced to take on a brutal gang led by Stephen Boyd and David Hemmings.Other cast members include;Freddie Starr as Naboth's sidekick,Carol White as Naboth's ex wife who is forced to do a striptease when kidnapped by the gang,Alan Ford as one of the 'eavies and Edward Fox as White's rich snooty hubby.
Anyone seen it?

The Squeeze is something of an unsung British classic and is long overdue for a DVD release. Keach is stunning as the dishevelled near-alcoholic Jim Naboth and Hemmings and Boyd shine in their roles. Boyd is particularly chilling as the unfazed underworld crime boss.

An excellent film indeed. Incidentally the police commissioner was Leon Greene (the wooden Rex in The Devil Rides Out) and Boyd's daughter (seen in the climax) was Lucinda Duckett (the annoying Ann Wilson in Grange Hill).

Yep,VILLAIN was great Mark,but there's something nastily sleazy about THE SQUEEZE.....

After receiving the Pre-Cert from Reaps this morning I kicked back to watch this and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was sleazy, downbeat and for the most part Stacy Keach's character made you feel nervous because he looked so damn clueless. The strip scene in particular just felt wrong but the one scene that I was uncomfortable with was the dog killing. There was no need for that at all and am against that kind of thing, I don't care if it's fictional I just don't like to see animals get killed in films.

A very entertaining film I reckon .

Superb film,fictional mutt mashing or not....endlessly rewatchable.What did you think of Boyd and Hemmings Cloudy,performance wise? Spot on eh?

It was very satisfying when Vic took a pasting. And it's a shame Bricktop didn't get the baseball bat treatment. Brilliant performances all round I'd say.
