I could tally the votes and chuck a list together if enough people are interested.
Would it be done in the same way as the BBC survey, with people giving scores to the films so, for example, 10 films ranked 10-1? This would be the same way as (I think) the best horror films that you did before.

Actually, the BBC survey just asked for 10 films from each critic, presumably giving equal weight to each, then seeing how many times each film was mentioned.

Yes.

Difficult to do in a meaningful manner, as we are but a small sample size unfortunately... plus, I was thinking people could list more than 10 if they wanted too otherwise we could end up with 10 different lists each with 10 different films in them.

Valid points as the chances of receiving 177 replies are very slim!

16 years is a long time.

You might end up with a list of films which are rarely duplicated.

Were you sticking to horror or everything?

True.

However, it did work for the horror and sci-fi lists and they encompassed over 100 years of cinema, albeit genre specific.

I was surprised when I found out just 559 films were contributed by the 177 critics (from a possible total of 1770), averaging just over 3 films per list.

Indeed.

...plus how long the lists are. Ten top tens are much more constraining than ten top 100s.
