What’s lurking in the woods? What unnamed terror, what malevolent evil?

In new British found footage horror ‘A Night In The Woods’ the filmmakers make full use of the eerie gloom, as we see in today’s clip. Some horror films throw the CGI toybox at you in a relentless effort to send hairs on the back of the neck skywards. Millions are spent every year of carefully constructed computer effects designed to extract chills.

Sometimes though, simply pointing the camera into the ink black night is enough, as every moth eager to smash itself against the lens makes you jump and the sound of breath and so much empty space for fiends to leap from – combined with the viewers fevered imagination – is all that is needed to instill terror…

PRE-ORDER THE PACT ON DVD @AMAZON NOW!

On DVD & Blu-Ray 01 Oct 2012

There’s been a lot of spooky ghost movies of late… No scratch that, there are always spooky ghost movies because we’ll never get tired of creepy, supernatural chills. Rampaging zombies are all very well but they put the fear of God into us rather then sending a shiver up the spine. But what makes The Pact a more interesting proposition than the other haunted movies coming out this year?

Grim and terrible murders!

Yes, The Pact is an inspired splicing of serial killer thriller and good old fashioned spook show. You get cops and psychics. Gore and kitchen appliances flying across the kitchen. There’s a twisted, evil creep with cold dead eyes and no soul and a disembodied soul throwing the furniture about.

The Pact has all the jumps, scares and bluffs that a good supernatural movie requires and a twitching, nerve-shredded psychic straight out of Poltergeist central casting but there’s something even darker lurking beneath the genre box ticks that makes the movie stand out.

Stay tuned for upcoming terrifying clips!
