Cheers for that.

Don't think I'll bother to watch the Spanish disc...especially as I'm used to the Warner Maverick VHS and that ahem,grey area disc..however....it's superb artwork could come in handy.

What a wasted opportunity eh?

Big kudos to BFI indeed then.

Which is why we NEED to get behind this release...

Can anyone think of another film that has lay in DVD limbo for so long?

Sad for the BFI though eh?
Being used as a marketing guineapig....hopefully they'll twist Warner's arm and get a 2 disc SE with BOTH versions!

And WHEN (Not if) it sells by the TRUCKLOAD Warner always could afford to give it the BD treatment.

So yeah,it's very important we all show support for this,because;

A.Ken Russell is a true maverick,one of our national treasures.
and
B.THE DEVILS is one of the most controversial British films ever made.It's a classic.

How many sigs ended up on that online petition?

I don't think this has anything to do with sales and everything to do with Warner running scared from the religious Right.

Default Ken Russell's The Devils - March 2012 on DVD

I would really buy the dvd (the special edtion tag is a con to me, esp. as its the cut version) if it was uncut
the restoration might well be great, but its not the complete uncut version we all want to see
