I'm surprised that there's not a few on here who are saying, 'If it's not released on Blu-ray, I'm not buying!'.

Now THERE is a quality movie. Although not produced by Hammer, the film was made by two of the main Hammer producers, continuing their box office success with other sitcom movies. All terrible...

Tragically, sitcom spin-offs were considerably more lucrative in 1970s British cinema - soft porn was just about the only other surefire moneyspinner, and both were much cheaper to make than period horror.

In fact, I seem to recall that Hammer's biggest hit ever (and also the biggest domestically-produced hit of 1971) was On the Buses.

Most were indeed terrible, though Porridge wasn't bad - but that one was helped by the fact that original writers Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais had had a fair bit of big-screen experience and were intelligent enough to realise that you couldn't just get away with an expanded sitcom episode.

I pre-ordered mine quite a while ago and, with those specs, there's no way I'd even contemplate cancelling. It does look like quite a formidable set, but that just means the waiting period is even more difficult!

Just pre-ordered this - looks like an excellent set, even in spite of the version that's released.

Knowing Warner's and their opinion of this film the DVD will probably go out of print soon, hope I'm wrong though
