I also have the UK set and I've thought of getting the US versions not because of the few extra seconds but because the first two films also have the US versions (shorter, I think).
On the other hand, the US booklet is in black&white on the inside, unlike the UK one, which is in colour.

I used to have the UK box set and I got rid of it once I discovered that the first two films had been cropped from the original aspect ratios. The US DVDs of the first two films have superior framing and display more picture information in the frame.

Couldn't find a dedicated Blind Dead films thread, so here will have to do.
Someone posted this fan made tribute to the Blind Dead films in the Shameless Facebook Group. Apart from the music, I think it's pretty cool

I've always been led to believe that the original film is the best of the series, with the sequel 'Return of the Evil Dead' running it a close second. I've never been a big fan of the movies and don't own them on any format. I suppose I could be tempted to buy them if someone like Arrow, 88 Films or Shameless released them (fully uncut, of course).

I rewatched The Ghost Galleon a few days ago.

Although it is widely thought of as the worst of the four films i really enjoyed it. It's atmospheric to the point of suffocation. All the scenes on the boat are superbly done. What lets it down is the abduction sub plot which in my opinion isn't needed.

A great set indeed.

It remains one of my favourites in all my collections (I have the coffin box).
