What version does everyone prefer?

The longer US cut or the shorter European cut?

To me they're known as the TCM Cut (the longer version was always on Turner Classic Movies), and The Proper Cut I agree with Mr Kubrick that the shorter cut works better . . .

It's the standard print used on US Dvd's and Blu Ray's Rik.
I own both.

The shorter version probably packs a better punch, but as it's Kubrick,Nicholson and The Overlook,I don't mind the extra running time on the US cut at all.

I not seen the non US cut. So am interested in watching it, ergo wanting the UK disc.

I wonder if the longer cut will get a UK release. Wasn't it shown at the cinema here recently, or will be?

I just have the old UK DVD with the cardboard cover.
Wasn't the longer cut on TV last night, I'm sure I saw somebody post it on Facebook?

The main thing with the longer cut is it packs in a load of 'human interaction' scenes that just aren't necessary, and detract from the films unique atmosphere. I want cold, Kubrickian isolation: vast empty spaces filled with dread, not folk shootin' the breeze .That, and the aforementioned fairground skeletons scene . . .

Is the shorter cut on blu ray?

I got the US blu ray, and that was the longer cut, the first time I'd seen it.

It was a bit long, so I think the shorter one works better.
