If you get the rights to a film you usually get to market it the way you think is best - some contracts may stipulate a certain level of control from the rights holder. So Romero won't have been shown Rick's artwork - it would be nice to get such nods but it would also slow things down a lot and in some cases people who make films have sod-all idea of how to best market them or just get in the way - I am of course there speaking in general terms!

Hmm... I leave for Sitges on Wednesday and I *believe* Mr Romero may be in attendance.

Hmm...

Wouldn't it be strange if you had some artwork tucked under your arm...

If you want me to take something (small and packagable) send it to me along with the two Sleepless discs and the House by the Cemetery DVD - I gotta get them to Tony from Fango when I see him over there too! Can you post tomorrow?

(No promises Romero will be there, mind, he's just rumoured to be attending: Won't know the guest list til I arrive. From previous experience, though, he's a true gent)

That's more or less exactly how i expect BF to be and whereas i like many 'so-bad-it's-good' horror films i just have no desire to sit through this or any other H.G. Lewis effort.
No personal problem with the man i just tend to lump him in with the likes of Andy Milligan, Al Adamson and Ted V. Mikels as 'filmmakers' whose work i know would be a waste of my time watching never mind buying on DVD.

Also, because i'm not too fussed on '60s horror in general i think this mindset may be influencing my opinion and i may be possibly prejudiced against the sort of ancient, no-budget American snoozers that BF seems to represent.
No offence to fans of the film or any of the aforementioned directors but i'm afraid that's how i feel.

Dear me!

"Blood Feast" is great fun! And, aside from that obscure as hell Japanese flick, it is indeed the wellspring from which full blooded gore did flow.
Iconic, historic, and fun.

Afraid I have to bite back if my Mr Milligan is trashed!
Milligan is a marvel!
A true warped original, even when he's remaking himself.
Even when technically he's awful and all around him is damned to disaster he manages to create something grotesquely fascinating. A true, pure, Grindhouse God.

And a fascinating and ****ed up guy as well...The book about him, "The Ghastly One", is utterly essential reading for any Exploitation/Grindhouse fan.

Big question....Which version is this? The 'Unrated' print I assume?
As the 'R' print is completely unwatchable as literally everything has been censored.

Anyone?
Is this going to be the unrated version? Thanks.

I think Almar is probably the man to be able to give you a definitive answer on this one.I believe the last time it was classified (in 2007) it was the unrated version,99mins.The R-Rated version was 7 mins shorter so if we can get a runtime,we'll know for sure.

Thanks man. I actually had no idea this had been certified in the UK. Never saw the DVD anywhere.

Should be the same one (the 'R' version is truly dire).

Cheers.
