Thank the Lord the days of Ferman are over.

I'll second that. Not one single video nasty was waived for cuts during Ferman's days. Robin Duval was an excellent successor, and David Cooke is continuing the good work accordingly.

I shudder to think what Ferman would have made of Shameless or Arrow.

This is the first time I've seen more than two people stick up for City of the Living Dead. Fans are always glorifying Zombie Flesh Eaters and The Beyond, whereas I feel this is a far better movie. His best work along with Perversion Story and Four of the Apocalypse.

I like all 4 of the Fulci zombie films though The Beyond and City probably rate highest for me. Cemetery is great fun but all over the place at times, and as much as I love Zombie it does take a while to get going.

To be honest I find Zombie Flesh Eaters boring. It is very atmospheric and the gore is great but it drags way to much. Certainly his most overrated movie.

Ruin their product and charge them the earth for doing so, like he did with Redemption. Tosser.

I've a lot of respect for Duval. Was he not the guy who paroled THE EXORCIST and THE TEXAS CHAIN SAW MASSACRE within a few weeks of one another?

Yes he was. Very much the reformist censor. He also passed A Clockwork Orange, Salo, and the uncut Enter The Dragon for the first time too.

Yep,that guy made my day releasing EXORCIST,TCM and CLOCKWORK.

I could finally get rid of videos of tenth generation copies and forced Dutch subtitles....

Was he still there when Vipco's releases of THE BEYOND and COTLD were passed uncut?

Funnily enough,HBTC STILL never made it through unscathed......
