Am I the only one who likes Rick's artwork? Sure it's a slasher film, and the cover doesn't really make it look like one, but I think it's brilliant. It jumps off the shelf in my opinion.

As people can see the opinions flow on here but I don't think there's any need to be so personally insulting. Rick takes what he does very seriously and his brief has always been to come up with inspiring takes on films that may indeed use quite a lot of artistic license, just as old exploitation art did. It's quite ok for people not to like it and say so - that's the point of this place but I'm struggling to want to read comments phrased in such a demeaning manner. You might not always like the results but there's passion behind them.

The fact that I have to go out of my way now to hide this artwork is ridiculous. It's not like I can choose to ignore his art and buy the other version. It's forever attached to the same piece of paper.

Artists NEED to be taken down a peg when they draw garbage. Otherwise, they'll think everything they do is gold.

This is not an inspiring take on the film. It's a take on previous poster art.

I've liked almost everything Rick has done except this and Inferno. He needs to have more respect for the material.

Interesting - I found MARTIN not just to be Ricks most uninspired artwork so far but also one of the most bland and boring DVD covers I've seen so far. Really sticks out next to beauties like TWO EVIL EYES.

And that's fine - I just don't want to read comments in that previous tone because they just make me want to stop bothering and that's easy enough to do - look at the rest of the DVD industry - Photoshop a go-go and thousands of covers from hell but they truly didn't care to try.

Haunted House Of Horror, although dated now, also had a couple of very bloody & graphic murders, and was made a few years earlier.

Never been a fan of Bay Of Blood myself.

I like it. I just think it has absolutely nothing to do with the film that it's attached too.

I also thought the cover for Martin was very bland. Love the art for Two Evil Eyes too: one of Rick's best.

The artwork debacle is being blown wayyyyyy out of proportion. Yes Rick's cover may be misleading but why slander and get all up in arms? I can't believe the way some people on this board are acting. It's seriously very childish and unnecessary. Arrow treats us like kings, I believe they deserve the same respect.

Exactly. The solution is simple, if you don't like the artwork, then get your point across without getting personal....and then turn the artwork around to one of the other panels when you buy it, that's what they're there for Let's try and keep CL's the friendly forum we all know and love.

And I like both panels so far. I know what I would like to see as one of the others, so keeping my fingers crossed.
