I assume the initial pressing error is for the DVD and for the Blu-Ray.
As I read earlier, the correct Blu-Ray will have the opening in sepia and will be of a higher bitrate.

Will the correct DVD also sport a higher bitrate?
Without wishing to sound repetitive, does anyone knows something about que question above?

It´s not for me, some people in another forum asked me.

I don't have any information on that, but will try and find out next week.

As I haven't seen this film yet, I would have been none the wiser about the opening scenes. So many buyers may be the same and this will save Arrow some money. As I am on this forum however, I now have a choice

Reading between the lines that's the reason why they aren't doing a recall.

But they ARE doing a recall/replacement...call it what you want! The disc will be replaced if you get the wrong one...

They're not doing a recall. If it was a recall all stock would be withdrawn from shops and replaced.

Only if you know about the replacement scheme. If you don't you'll still have the sub-par disc.

And yes, a lot of blind buyers will be forever non the wiser and live their lives blissfully unaware of the discs shortcomings, so no harm done etc...

You have a great point there.

A lot of people don´t know about the replacement scheme and they never will.
The only people who will be aware of this are the internet shoppers who travel through the forums or by word of mouth. Still, many retail UK buyers will have a defective product without knowing about the replacement.

A word to Arrow to try to resolve this in a good way was to send a notification to all online/physical retailers to notify their buyers of this replacement scheme. On the online stores, it could either be done by mail or by a notification slip on the package order. In the stores, employers should alert the buyers for that replacement.

I know someone is going to say that the stores won´t do that because saying a costumer that they´re gonna buy a possible defective product is the same as a no buy, even when the replacement is mentioned.

In answer to your queries:

Firstly, the monochrome opening was on the initial pressing on both the Blu-ray and DVD and the replacement procedure is the same for both formats.

Secondly, the DVD will not have a higher bitrate as there is simply no room for one on a DVD-9!

Looking forward to this a lot. Is it still on course for a 14th March release; i.e. 7 days from now?? Will probs have to post it back to Arrow to get the intro changed but I really don't mind. Arrow's PHENOMENA release exceeded all my expectations in terms of PQ, they made it look like a new film! They really are lavishing these films with all the care and attention they deserve!
