I was a bit disappointed with The Devil's Kiss. The creature was just a bloke who is shit at putting on blue eyeshadow.

Every exploitation scene cuts away just as the music score is in full swing making you feel several scenes are heavily cut, however its probably just Eurocine and shite editing.

it just seemed very tame when i was expecting something wonderful like a Paul Naschy film in style.

The Zombie Lake trailer was absolutely superb quality, print wise, and the Sadistic Baron Von Klause looks like something special.

However The Devil's Kiss is something very different from Arrow and not just a typical re-release, so it gets a thumbs up from me and the hope of more to come.

It all depends on your expectations and, if you think The Devil's Kiss will be a long forgotten piece of quality gothic European cinema, you will be disappointed.

However if you don't mind something which is creaky and unintentionally amusing, you'll enjoy it a lot more.

True, but there is a difference between hope and reasonable expectations!

Why?

Just because i don't know a film doesn't mean its not a classic. The Devil's Kiss has all the ingredients of being something special, it just doesn't quite cut it.

I don't have any hope at all going into a film produced by Eurocine.

Good point and I know there are some films which I had extremely low expectations for but found them to be much better than I could ever hope. I guess the problem here was that I didn't have any expectations, good or bad, so took it completely as I found it.

I really do hope sales are good enough for more releases of this type.

Why not mate?

Eurocine were a class outfit!

Let's hope that trailer for Zombie Lake is a sign of things to come!

I was joking. Well, sort of. I dread going into films they produced that weren't directed by Jess Franco. Some of the Franco stuff, like The Awful Dr Orloff, Eugenie De Sade, Female Vampire, Virgin Among the Living Dead, is excellent.
