Then, no it isn't defective. This release has scanner noise as most Italian horror films released on Blu-ray. Just like Arrow's City of the Living Dead.

That had a lot of noise plus compression (which looks a bit similar to film grain) problems which only made it worse. This BD also have compression issues compared to the Blue Underground BD.

I think my BU BD looks pretty good compared to old DVD. Both have been compared here: The House by the Cemetery | Blu-ray: US vs. DVD: US
Ooof no my friend nothing like that! Best i can describe is imagine tracking slightly out on a video recorder, or heads slightly dirty .. all the gradients of snow/noise u would see. Well its almost that! .. i will try to get a screen shot.

I thought city and the beyond looked lovely but this is atrocious for some reason. I am sure Arrow would not have put something out this bad intentionally.

Hmmmm

Well done a video n uploaded it to Boobtube. The grain, flickering n shimmering is not coming from the camera low light ... to be honest its worse than it looks on here. It is more obvious about the 50 second plus mark.

YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.

Try info@arrowfilms.co.uk You should get a reply fairly quickly, they're usually very good like that.

Goodness, mine looks nothing like either of those! Image a worn out VHS copy and you are close.

I have emailed Arrow and the guys have offered to exchange mine, I just hope the replacement looks at least something like the shots in the examples on the link in the post above.
