Hello and welcome to my 17th Blog about my Halloween journey.
I had heard so many people talk about the film Halloween like it was some brilliant slasher and I (to be honest) wasn't that bothered about it as I had never seen the film before but knew the storyline.
I was old enough to watch it too so it wasn't that (like it was with THE EXORCIST), I just wasn't bothered.
The it came on TV channel 4 so I thought what the hell i'll tape it and watch it the next day.
So I taped it and knowing it was old (1978) I wasn't expecting much. But how wrong was I, I was hooked and after I watched it I couldn't wait to see the next.
Which thankfully it was on Channel 4 that night so I taped that and watched that and I was stunned that it started exactly a few minutes after the 1st one.
The hospital setting was a brilliant idea and to be honest I thought it was better that the original. There was more violence and it was just overall better in my opinion.
Now I had heard rumours that the 3rd Halloween film (Season Of The Witch) wasn't that good but I taped it the next night so it was 3 nights = 3 halloweens.
I watched Halloween III and even though it didnt have Michael Myers in it I thought it would have been good as a film on it's own as I think it shouldn't have been in the Halloween series.
The story was original and it was atmospheric and the locals were strange.
The next night I taped Halloween 4 with the return of Michael and I did enjoy it more with it having Myers in it.
The next night I was disappointed as CH4 had replaced it with NBA and NHL then it wasn't even shown the week after or whenever so basically it had stopped with showing them.
I had seen H20 a few years back and I enjoyed that it was a good slasher to enjoy with a few drinks and mates.
I then bought the 1st Halloween in a 4 Disc collector's edition with a booklet and the amount of special features it has is immense.
I bought Curse Of Micheal Myers for cheap on DVD and I haven't had chance to watch it yet.
So the Halloween films I have yet to see are Halloween 5, 6 and Resurrection plus the two remakes.
So watching those films was fun and I am going to get the others on dvd to watch again and to ones I haven't seen I'll watch for the 1st time.
Thank you for reading
