Picked up a couple of books in Sainsburys this morning. I already have Do Androids Dream... in both hardback and paperback so will likely save this and give it someone as a birthday or Christmas gift extra.

The Witchfinder's Sister was a blind buy. It's about the sister of Matthew Hopkins - Witchfinder General, who went round with him persecuting women as alleged witches - and sounded quite good when i read the reverse of it instore. However when i returned i happened to look on Amazon and it was featured in Richard and Judy's Book Club so worry it might end up being dodgy chick-lit. We'll see. It was only £3.99, and i do like some of the women who write historical horror / supernatural fiction such as Kate Mosse and Barbara Erskine.

Recent purchases, a thread on here led me to buying Midwich Cuckoos as never read it, bought all 4 of these in hardback, in the Science Fiction Masterworks collection which I am 'slowly' purchasing.

For fans of 'older' classic horror with great nostalgic covers I recommend the paperbacks from hell.

I bought one or two of the original series of hardbacks when they were released back in 2001 - A Canticle for Leibowitz and Day of the Triffids

I have a lot of them already as the old sci-fi book club hardbacks. I collected them for a few years but sold all the ones which didn't have their original dust jackets.
