Picked this up in Sainsburies this afternoon. The cover got my curiosity and the synopsis on the back had me sold.
From the back -

"SHE IS AWAKE...

Norfolk, 1643. With civil war tearing England apart, reluctant soldier Thomas Treadwater is summoned home by his sister, who accuses a new servant of improper conduct with their widowed father. By the time Thomas returns home, his father is insensible, felled by a stroke, and their new servant is in prison, facing charges of witchcraft.

Thomas prides himself on being a rational, modern man, but as he unravels the mystery of what has happened, he uncovers not a tale of superstition but something dark and ancient, linked to a shipwreck years before."

Just had a browse of reviews. Sounds to be a well written book and definitely a tale of witchcraft, folklore, superstition and something in the sea.

I'll be on the look out for that myself, thanks for posting.

Never heard of this guy. Investigating further he's churned out six books in two years. That's unnatural.

Are they really slim volumes or something?

Found a couple of oddities across the road from the Xtian place ahem.

A softback of the Q Annual I got for Xmas years ago and a book of the film The Life Of McGonagall, a Spike frippery about a Scottish "poet" which is mad as feck and that.
50p, I just gave her the pound tbh.

Bloody hell - I used to have that Incredible Melting Man book back in the day. As I recall, the cause of the astronaut’s infection is different in the book. In the film, he sees some bright lights in space, but in the book, he gets infected in a different way…
I had a load of film books back then - Tales From The Crypt, The Ghoul, Legend Of The Werewolf and so on. Wish I’d kept them !

I received two fairly weighty books yesterday.

Liquid Intelligence is regularly referred to by the YouTuber/bartender Greg, who has the How to Drink channel, and other bartenders on YouTube.

I really enjoy Ian Dunt's observations and writing on politics, and How Westminster Works… and Why it Doesn't is his latest book.

I buy books, I don’t read much tbh, but when I do I only actually like reading things based on true stories, don’t care if there silly, weird, ufo, ghost, autobiography etc etc etc, as long as the concept is true,
So here are the last few books I’ve bought some time this yr,
My only problem is I buy a book and take ages to get round to reading it and when I do I’ve bought another 4-5 in between.
Guess it’s same principal as buying films .
