A pretty good volume from what i recall although i've only read my copy once and Bey Logan's Hong Kong Action Cinema is another fine tome imo. Yours truly once owned the similarly-themed book Hong Kong Babylon but said publication was a bit too text-heavy for me tbh.
I like as many images as words to look at.:)

I like my reading to be informative but also somewhat fun and these two deliver.
Lots of pics as well. ;)

The second one is actually a sort of sequel and has the same unusual size as the first book.

Yeah and i struggle to entertain text that's overly scholarly or academic with a more fan-friendly approach going down better with me. The late horror genre devotee Chas. Balun was good in this respect as was England's answer to him, scouse scribe John Martin although i didn't always agree with their opinions.:)

Superb book, featuring some titles I'd never even heard of! Another winner from Hemlock Books. Highly recommended.
