I'm gonna stake my street cred here now by saying I have good time for Maximum Overdrive, I think it's fun, and King calling it the worst adaptation of his work was a bit unkind...

The last King story i read was the first one in Full Dark No Stars, about the farmer, and it bored me to tears.

I do collect his work though and have a complete hardback collection of his work.

And over twenty paperbacks as well. Why the paperbacks? I really liked this range of covers in the early nineties.

Oh and i also have everything of his up to the latest crime novel on the Kindle. In fact the only thing of his i don't have is Cycle of the Werewolf and this latest crime thing.

I just never read em'.

I've got the Cycle of the Werewolf graphic novel, paid a pound for it years ago at a car boot sale, I'll have to dig it out and scan some stills from it sometime

Cycle of the Werewolf is pretty good, and can be read in an afternoon, not surprising as the idea originally started out as an illustrated calendar, then expanded into a novella. I like Silver Bullet too...

Rik likes this.

Least you've read the book, Kubrick clearly didn't

Thats being said Rik its been a while since I read it and remember very little. I must get round to reading more King because im sure I can like his books, but theres always something about his structure that prevents me from reading one completely or enjoying any I do. 1963 is still on my to get list though so im not ruling anything out yet...

Cronenberg threw out a lot of pages from Dead Zone and still made one of the finest Horror films of the 80's. Christopher Walken surely delivers one of the most melancholic performances in Cinema and it its own way, it's a great companion film to The Elephant Man...
