July 13th, 1973 - Paul Naschy's werewolf-less film 'The Hunchback Of The Morgue' is released to cinemas in Spain

Directed by Javier Aguirre the film is considered to be one of Naschy's all-time greatest horror films, and he won the Best Actor Award for it at the 1973 Paris Convention of Fantastic Cinema. Permission was given to use a real corpse for the head-severing scene. In the most talked-about scene, Naschy was set upon by real rats. He had to be inoculated against possible rabies

Not a poster. I presume this was a newspaper or magazine advert

Something makes me wonder if the artist had any idea what Linda Lovelace actually looked like

I've never seen this particular poster before, so I presumed it was a fan thing

However, it appears on the cover of a lazerdisc release, alongside the classic poster for the first film

This leads to the question 'What came first? This one, or the one for 'City Of The Living Dead'?'
