I bought the Korean disc a while ago and it isn't uncut, it does say 80mins running time on back but actually runs a bit less, i am pretty sure if memory serves me that it is the same as the american R rated version.

A thought about the BBFC and their stance against animal deaths in films. Recently broadcast on terrestrial television have been quite a few programmes where animals have been butchered in front of the camera, mostly for so-called cookery prgrammes such as 'The Biggest Chinese Restaurant In The World' (which had snakes, fish, and other animals being cooked and eaten alive), and 'Could You Eat An Elephant?' which had scenes of dog, monkey, snake, & horse butchery.

Surely if they can be shown on prime time television, then they can relax a bit when it's shown in context of a rated horror film?

Afraid not, eiren.

The programmes you mention wouldn't be cut by the BBFC either. Slaughterhouse footage of animals being killed for food is not cut by the BBFC, who cut/classify in accordance with the animals act which states that scenes showing animals being killed or mistreated for the purpose of providing a work of entertainment will be cut. The BBFC have passed many scenes showing animals being killed for food, especially in documentaries.

Last House on Dead End Street and Cannibal Man are 2 feature films that have animal slaughter house footage passed by the BBFC.
Im not sure if any of the footage was trimmed or not, Angel , Vince or Mark wold know for sure .

The BBFC cut Cannibal Man by 3s in 1993 to remove only a shot of somebody having their throat slit. Seems like a pointless cut for an 18 but of course this was an offcial nasty and it was still 9 years before any of the films on this list would be passed uncut.

Last House on Dead End Street was passed uncut. Probably one of the most violent films they have passed uncut.

The Cannibal Man would easily pass uncut now. I'm surprised it hasn't had a UK DVD issue as it's one of the better of the official Video Nasties.

Salon Kitty also has slaughterhouse footage which was passed by the BBFC. A pretty revolting scene it is too.

The footage in Salon Kitty is pointless.

Not as far as I'm aware of. It was released on VHS here in the UK with no cuts made by the BBFC. Unless there were any pre-cuts made prior to it's submission but I haven't seen the film for years so I couldn't confirm.
