As I said, I wasn't sure if it was or not. Regardless of whether it was directly or not, they're clearly an indirect connection. Whether my post was there or not, I don't doubt had I seen your post I would have posted something similar to what I did in reply. I don't see a lot of the negative comments as a slight on Shameless, more the circumstances, which was why I did speak up, because I relate, and find myself of the same opinion.

Of course no one did. I never suggested they did. When people are genuinely wondering if the company is still around, and are being teased about 'exciting' announcements coming soon, on a platform filled with people who have already heavily consumed from their release pool, teasing repackages felt like a slap in the face. Your point with regards to how Shameless went from having such a goodwill, to being 'no hopers' relates to that, in my eyes. Which was why I brought it up. I think they did damage to themselves. But that's constructive criticism as far as I'm concerned, and surely this is the place to air it? Where they can hear it and take it on board, if they feel the need to.

I'm glad to see on other forums, people mentioning the upcoming announcements tomorrow, and quite a positive reaction to them 'not being dead' as one person put it. Clearly there's still a lot of goodwill towards the company out there, and regardless of how you've read my post, I'm happy there is. Nothing that I've said hasn't been constructive or helpful to them, in my eyes. If I’ve crossed a boundary somewhere, genuinely, someone let me know where. I’m at a loss here.

It was a joke, seriously, chill out. I thought it sensible to end a serious discussion with a little bit of humour. I really didn't expect to get such a sour reaction to it. I wasn't offended by anything you posted, merely saw the topic from a different point of view and expressed that. Re-reading everything back, I can't help wondering if you expected a negative reaction to your post, from your 'I've stuck my neck on the chopper' comment, and have misread my post in a different light to how it was intended, or if there's something I've missed a few times now.

I can’t say I’ve ever seen you react in such a way to something on this forum, and there’s been some seriously inappropriate and offensive stuff thrown from many a banned member. A little taken aback if I’m honest…

I think I've said my piece now, and I'll leave it there. I really don't want tomorrow's announcements to be met between a differing of opinion that's bewilderingly turned so sour.

Bloody hell you can't half type eh?;)

Jinx_Barkman 8th August 2013 11:07 PM

I would welcome more poliziotteschi or post apocalyptic titles with open arms. Suspiria is my favorite film and it needs a proper blu ray release somewhere. I would get it day one.

davcol 8th August 2013 11:12 PM

Really hope its not Suspira or some tripe like Ghosthouse

It is no joke!

There will be a new cut of Ratman and Flavia the Heretic released each, with 3 seconds of additional footage. :tongue1:

We mods need time to get in our suits of armour before the mass kicking commences ;)

Two "sexy" films? I'm out of here before it all kicks off! :fear:

Rik 9th August 2013 10:13 AM

Wow, what a let down :(
Oh well, at least they're still alive and I hope these two new titles do well for them, but I've zero interest in sexploitation films

Haha I know! The hardcore giallo fans are likely to be disappointed. I think they seem like interesting (in a good way!) choices

Refused 9th August 2013 10:15 AM

I think I'll be picking up Viva, sounds like a decent watch!

Quoted purely for being a reasoned and sensible response from someone not bothered about these 2 films. See guys, that's how you do it! Observe Rik and follow suit!

Slippery Jack 9th August 2013 10:18 AM

Yeah, same response as Rik. At least it's something, but not for me . . .

(and you thought they would be announing Suspiria :pound:)

bizarre_eye@Cult Labs 9th August 2013 10:24 AM

I'm just glad they're back to releasing new titles.

The (Sensuous) Nurse is an entertaining little film that will please Ursula Andress fans ;)

It was available on the NoShame label, but has been long oop.

I've never seen Viva, but the synopsis sounds interesting.

Demdike@Cult Labs 9th August 2013 10:26 AM

The (Sensuous) Nurse is a fine film. Any one who likes Edwige Fenech's non-Gialli should lap this up.

I'm convinced Suspiria is coming. Amsterdamned and Viva were both released on dvd from Nouveaux Pictures, and now Shameless have them They also did a screening of Suspiria (also Nouveax). So i'm going to bet the last hair on my head that we'll see Shameless release Suspiria at some point.

Oh Stephen! Don't write cheques your head can't cash! :)

I agree with you though, I also anticipate a bluray of Suspiria some point down the line. Seems crazy not to with them having access to Nouveaux's back catalogue.

Plus, The House with the Laughing Windows was also a former Nouveaux title.

Also, you have no hair, ergo nothing to bet with! :tongue1:

Sorry to have to say this, but two disappointing releases. I'll have to giv these two a miss. Sorry Shameless but you have let me down.:(

What sort of thing were you hoping for? :)

platostotal 9th August 2013 11:57 AM

Odd choices, but might pick up Nurses for Fenech and Andress, I would guess that as Shameless went for 'sexploitation' the films would be much cheaper to release, and in turn could pay for more Giallo type films.
Just nice to see em keep on going.

But just imagine how many Eurosleaze flicks are out there waiting for release, the mind boggles...

Fenech isn't in this. If you thought she was because of Dem's comment I think he just meant this film is from the same mould as her sex comedies.

Cheers bud, still get it anyway.

gag 9th August 2013 12:19 PM

Tbh honest never heard of any them and don't REALY look like my type of films, I don't have a specific type, but either way when I do get round to it ill stil buy them for several reason. One being to carry on with the full collection even tho I've still quite a few missing, and two to show and keep my support towards the company. Who knows might buy them and find them pretty good but from the trailers don't fancy either. No company can please everyone for one person they please their a handful they won't please, and vice a versa as the saying goes swings and roundabouts.

fuzzymctiger 9th August 2013 12:29 PM

Anyone who frequents the Arrow boards knows I'm not a fan of erotica, but to be honest, something like Nurses sounds a lot better than Brass or Metzger titles to me :P

Andra Jai 9th August 2013 01:18 PM

Well we seemed to wait quite a long time to hear something then unfortunately get offered a very disappointing choice of films. Easy passes for me I'm afraid.

What a shame, still I'm glad I didn't get my hopes up this time:(

I don't know really, probably some of the old favourites that keep getting mentioned on here such as Cannibal Ferox, Cut and Run, Zombie Creeping Flesh etc.. or I would have welcomed some classic post apocalyptic films such as 2019 or Atlantis Interceptors.

I imagine most if not all of those may have problems with rights etc so probably have good reasons why it couldn't be any of them but there are many other long forgotten classics well overdue for a release.

Admittedly these new releases are not my type of films anyway but I was perhaps expecting some more well known titles especially after the long wait.

Still I'm sure there will be collectors out there for these, so maybe next time

Zombie Creeping Flesh has already had three UK releases at least and a decent American release from Blue Underground which can be picked up for around a fiver.

Cannibal Ferox is easily available uncut on line as well. Cut and Run perhaps less so.

No one seems to have ever released to my knowledge an official release of Atlantis Interceptors so that would be very cool, however i have no knowledge of the rights issues or if a decent master exists.

2019 is another that can be picked up online. Shriek Show had it as part of a box set i believe.

Personally i'm pleased Shameless are back releasing obscure Italian films like The Nurse and am really hoping they have somehow got hold of the NoShame back catalogue or at least some of it. The Nurse is a fine film imo.

As you say maybe next time. :)

I know these have had many other releases but only on DVD, put any of them on blu-ray and I would imagine you would have a decent number of collectors picking them up.

Another potential Shameless title I always thought would be a good seller is a double bill of Anthropophagous and Absurd

Strikes 1 and 2!! C'mon Shameless, pull your finger out. Afterall, there are far superior slices of eurosleaze out there that you could of put out.

gag 9th August 2013 03:57 PM

No matter what a company releases there will always be disappointed fans.

So here a suggestion how about a thread where it up for eg say a month and people can put there suggestions on there, after the month the films suggested are then put in a poll, and people click which one they want but must only be one then after eg another month the top 3 can be put forward Shamelss and see what there opinions are, same can be done with Arrow and then that way see if they take note of the opinions of people. That way they can't go wrong.

Or something like that it could be a people choice poll.

Just a suggestion and idea.

That way the public are getting a say in what they want.
