How about a hint kind sir? Or at least a juicy tidbit of info? Basically, all I want to know is - DVD or Blu-ray?

bizarre_eye@Cult Labs 8th August 2013 02:14 PM

It's great news to hear that Shameless will be finally announcing something!

Well, just for you Refused, both of these will be DVD releases. Completely new titles to the Shameless catalog as well

sjconstable 8th August 2013 02:17 PM

If it's not The Spider Labyrinth, I will shed a tear ;)

Guess I will have to wait a little longer for some more releases to sit next to my Shameless blu's!

Either way, I'm excited for tomorrow.

Promising! Would love them to be new to DVD like Ratman or The Frightened Woman but would wholly understand why they might not be given the circumstances. Hope it isn't Suspiria now though as a DVD wouldn't be ideal.

Excited!

Unless they use the "She's the Witch with the Magic Tits" tagline, then I'd consider double dipping!

Great news :). Around what time tomorrow?

Personally hoping at least one of them is a Giallo with little to no exposure over here.

It's also nice to have a reveal on a forum instead of Facebook or Twitter!

They'll be announced sometime in the morning, BAKA. Around 11ish

davcol 8th August 2013 05:31 PM

y2mimms 8th August 2013 06:41 PM

Please, please, please let one of them be "They call her one eye" !!!

Prince_Vajda 8th August 2013 06:55 PM

Good to hear Shameless are still with us.

JAMIOUSE 8th August 2013 07:14 PM

Yay! Great news fingers crossed it's something mind blowing.

Rik 8th August 2013 07:29 PM

I'm hoping one is SS Experiment Camp, just to see Reaps going into an online meltdown with excitement

My serious guesses are Death Laid an Egg and Suspiria

Nordicdusk 8th August 2013 07:55 PM

I don't know the first one, and I would be disappointed if one of the releases was Suspiria. There's already a brilliant Blu-ray by Nouveaux Pictures.

Yes. It is. Brilliant. Wrong colours? Wrong colours, my ass. I like them.

I may not know much about art, but I know what I like.

Cheers Rik now i know what my dads getting for xmas this year.

Haven't seen it due to the mass of bad reviews I've read, plus the screenshots I've seen. But, seeing as Kyle says both titles are DVD's only, I won't be buying it again, unless it can somehow surpass the 2 disc AB DVD I've had for 12-13 years or so.

SharonLynette 8th August 2013 08:30 PM

Is this a joke or will there really be a couple of new titles? Please say it isn't a joke!

Make Them Die Slowly 8th August 2013 08:34 PM

It's going to be 2 direct to DVD sequels to "Ratman"!

it'smebilly 8th August 2013 08:34 PM

Don't even know what the titles are yet but a bit disappointed they're DVD only;) sorry couldn't resist a little moan!

Oh yeah I also hope it's something that can get through the BBFC unscathed. A giallo would be excellent. Really excited now!

Crimson Blade 8th August 2013 08:38 PM

I bit more post-apocalypic action would be most welcome. Endgame or 2020 - Texas Gladiators, maybe. :)

And i hope one of them isn't SS Experiment Camp, when there's already a great A.W.E release.

I like when they release the type of fare that don't get DVD releases here, or films which have generally had limited releases around the world. What I don't like is when they pick up a film with a fairly substantial following, the type of film that Arrow, Scream Factory or Second Sight, as you've brought them up, would throw all the bells and whistles at, but which Shameless aren't in a position to, because of their size and financial structure. There's a difference to me, between a lack of faith in Shameless because of their output and talents, to a lack of faith in their circumstances. It's really not a case that I, or probably anyone actually, think they're a 'bunch of no hopers' as you have put it.

It doesn't matter how big or small they are, if the likes of Suspiria is at their door, it's obviously going to invite comparison to the likes of Arrow. Sally Anne from Hi-Digital-Ray-Format.com isn't going to give a shit about their circumstances, quite honestly. She's going to want justice for her favourite film, and she'll shake her fist at the company (/ies) that do it wrong, and I can't blame her.

Of course it's great to support a small company (a typical browse of my post history in the Most Recently Purchased thread will illustrate that I do), but I only have so much goodwill. I can't say the teasing of re-packages went down well with me, especially when they were in a position where people were genuinely speculating if they'd gone under. It's all about communication, as Rik pointed out, and we know more now than we did at the time, but of course there's an element of skepticism, that this light at the end of the tunnel will be something they've already sold to me, just with a new cover.

Of course it could always be worse than a re-package. It could be SS Sxperiment Camp :fear:. Which would be the final straw...

Oh dear. Some people take things so personally.:tsk:

You weren't mentioned by name Comrad Baka and no,it was in no way connected to what you posted.

What I was getting at was the general-'let's hammer Shameless' attitude.

Repackages? Who put a gun to your head to force you,or anyone for that matter to buy them?

As for your comment regarding SS Experiment Camp....FFS pick the dummy up....

If it is then great Rik. If not then fine-it's not the end of the world.
No one has died,no eco disaster has occurred.
My SSEC posts are done firmly with my tongue in my cheek.

However,if it IS SSEC then for some people.....

Think Suspiria is likely, and as they have done Deodato justice lately, maybe Cut and Run(uncut)

Now for pure fantasy...
Gestapo's Last Orgy and SS Experiment Camp as a nasty Nazi twin box set.
(just to see the faces of the BBFC when those two arrive)
no hope on the first, better chance for the second...

I'd definitely buy Cut and Run, provided it was uncut, great film

Stephen@Cult Labs 8th August 2013 09:34 PM

One is a dvd of Suspiria, with even wilder colours! They said, "let's put it out on dvd only, make the colours even worse than the blu-ray, and watch them lap it up!"

I wouldn't actually. Maybe if it had a better transfer, and loaded with extras. But it's Shameless we're talking about here  Probably a small interview and call it a fan edition!

What in my post is illustrating to you I've taken it personally, out of interest. I haven't in the slightest. I've re-read what I've written, and I'm genuinely quite surprised at your barbed reaction to it. I think I've put across, quite reasonably, a genuine reflection to points you raised in your post.

As I said, I wasn't sure if it was or not. Regardless of whether it was directly or not, they're clearly an indirect connection. Whether my post was there or not, I don't doubt had I seen your post I would have posted something similar to what I did in reply. I don't see a lot of the negative comments as a slight on Shameless, more the circumstances, which was why I did speak up, because I relate, and find myself of the same opinion.

Of course no one did. I never suggested they did. When people are genuinely wondering if the company is still around, and are being teased about 'exciting' announcements coming soon, on a platform filled with people who have already heavily consumed from their release pool, teasing repackages felt like a slap in the face. Your point with regards to how Shameless went from having such a goodwill, to being 'no hopers' relates to that, in my eyes. Which was why I brought it up. I think they did damage to themselves. But that's constructive criticism as far as I'm concerned, and surely this is the place to air it? Where they can hear it and take it on board, if they feel the need to.

I'm glad to see on other forums, people mentioning the upcoming announcements tomorrow, and quite a positive reaction to them 'not being dead' as one person put it. Clearly there's still a lot of goodwill towards the company out there, and regardless of how you've read my post, I'm happy there is. Nothing that I've said hasn't been constructive or helpful to them, in my eyes. If I’ve crossed a boundary somewhere, genuinely, someone let me know where. I’m at a loss here.

It was a joke, seriously, chill out. I thought it sensible to end a serious discussion with a little bit of humour. I really didn't expect to get such a sour reaction to it. I wasn't offended by anything you posted, merely saw the topic from a different point of view and expressed that. Re-reading everything back, I can't help wondering if you expected a negative reaction to your post, from your 'I've stuck my neck on the chopper' comment, and have misread my post in a different light to how it was intended, or if there's something I've missed a few times now.

I can’t say I’ve ever seen you react in such a way to something on this forum, and there’s been some seriously inappropriate and offensive stuff thrown from many a banned member. A little taken aback if I’m honest…

I think I've said my piece now, and I'll leave it there. I really don't want tomorrow's announcements to be met between a differing of opinion that's bewilderingly turned so sour.
