Almar - I'm offline at the moment, but thought you would like to know that our review of Footprints is almost finished

DVD World gave Footprints 3/4 and said the transfer is exceptional. I'm off to HMV in a mo to see if they have it.

You're being terribly presumptuous, Almar...

Like I mentioned in my 'welcome to the forum' post I watched this title today for the first time and loved it. I am extremely glad I held off watching the cruddy Swedish hard-subbed VHS rip I had. The presentation was excellent and I love the reversible covers (I chose the Le Orme side). The two language options were great as well as the subtitles to fill in the blanks when there was no English.

A question on the movie itself; it seems, like some Argento flicks, that the main actor/actress speaks English and the rest are in Italian. Was this the case? I always try to watch the movie in its native tongue with subtitles where required but only the leading lady's lips synched with the English dialogue.

Hi, I have read this forum for a while and have quite a few Shameless release DVDs and am very impressed.

Finally joined because I cant find Footprints anywhere. I thought my local HMV would have it in stock so went Monday morning but no, and now Play and Amazon are out of stock. Wheres the best place to get this? Is there going to be a shortage or is this just temporary?

There will have been a few different nationalities amongst the cast, not all speaking English. Florinda Bolkan's English is quite good, but not fluent and the film interestingly picks up on her nationality by having her as Portuguese when Bolkan is Brazilian. I imagine she was the most convincing at saying the English dialogue with other actors, particularly Nicoletta Elmi (who was also in Argento's Profundo Rosso (Deep Red)), speaking little or no English at all.

She later worked with Argento again in Demons and appeared in 2 video nasties. Namely Bay Of Blood and Flesh For Frankenstein (as Udo Kier's daughter).

I think there are only 2 Argento films that I don't own: Flesh for Frankenstein and the Phantom of the Opera, something which I plan to remedy soon! I have the five Demons films sitting on a shelf by my DVD player (along with about 10 others) waiting in line to be watched - there are only so many hours in the day!
