Took the plunge

Check the steel box carefully upon arrival Nordy, I have purchased this twice on separate occasions and sent both back, to the USA and ended up out of pocket on postage for one of them, as the boxes have been dented and/or scratched. They were both packed well so it was not a 'in transit' situation. Hope you have better luck. Wish there was a 'non' steel set I would take the plunge again myself as I really want this.

I hope you enjoy them as much as I did. If not a apologise in advance.

profondo rosso 7th June 2015 06:20 PM

I'm sure I will, I love old black and white stuff, brought up on it ..:wise:....and sometimes the more crackly the quality the more nostalgic I get, and with Bela in I am really looking forward to viewing these as I had never heard of them before.

Yeah i found it quite amusing, although not as hilarious as the quotes on the cover suggest, but a worthy watch never the less.

Does it have horror elements or is it just a comedy with vampires?

Although it isn't as good as This Is Spinal Tap, it's the same kind of 'mockumentary', which is much more comedy-based than a horror film. I thought it was very funny and loved the numerous film references.

Frankenhooker 8th June 2015 09:12 AM

Just had Inherent Vice and Tusk drop through the letter box. I loved Inherent Vice, despite some of the sniffy reviews. Not sure I followed the plot 100% but I loved the hazy atmosphere and I thought Joaquin Phoenix was fantastic.

I haven't seen Tusk and I have a love/hate relationship with Kevin Smith, but the premise sounds all sorts of messed up.

I loved it, but then I loved Flight Of The Conchords. I watched the whole thing with a smile on my face.

I love The Flight Of The Conchords radio show and TV series, so expected to have the same real action to What We Do in the Shadows, and wasn't at all disappointed.

Photo manipulation does him no favors.

Whilst never coming close to Under Siege, Marked for Death et al, some of the films are pretty good and others are almost unwatchable.

If you want a few recommendations then the films in this set are all enjoyable.

The poor ones are really poor though. Seagal doesn't seem to be in them half the time. His dialogue is often dubbed by a dodgy soundalike and they use body doubles for any long shot...not just fighting, getting out of a car or anything like that.

Good for a laugh maybe... as for your second question, XXL:lol:

( his Akido is still badass but he just looks so disinterested it's off-putting, and he uses an obvious stand-in in some modern stuff too)

It's such a shame to see him let himself go so badly and loose interest like that. Really used to enjoy him in his hay day .

I didn't know about this! Gutted that the bundle is sold out as it looks amazing, but I have bought myself the Blue Vinyl... I've developed a serious soundtrack addiction over the years so I couldn't pass this one up! Thanks man :)
