I concur. When I moved house I sold my entire (complete except for the Blue Midnight titles) Blue Underground DVD collection with the exception of Grand Slam.

oaxaca 9th October 2012 06:39 AM

The only one I've seen out of those in the collections is WHO SAW HER DIE? which is a brilliant giallo with a great performance by Lazenby.

Excited to watch GRAND SLAM now after all this praise. I've read that its a funked up late-60s Italian eurocrime version of RIFIFI and with a cast including Edward G. Robinson, Janet Leigh and Klaus Kinski, its bound to be good :D If comes anywhere near to Castellari's STREET LAW (starring Franco Nero) I will love it!

:(

thought i had bought all my Blus/dvds for this months. Then Arrow go put on a crazy offer! so may of also got:

City of the living dead Blu
Inferno Blu
Red Scorpion Blu
The Funhouse Blu
The house by the cemetery Blu (limited edition)

Who needs food anyway.........

and a side not, why do Shameless not have a direct shop to buy from?

SharonLynette 9th October 2012 12:12 PM

More arrivals from today and yesterday including all those £1.95 DVDs from Zavvi. Not Quite Hollywood is £2.58 on Amazon at the moment, even though I've already seen it I believe it's a good addition to my collection.

Got my Prometheus, Con Air, The Rock, and Armageddon steelbooks today. Still pissed off though. No-show for NOTLD and Enemy Mine. Expect major ranting if I open the steelbooks to find any scratches! I'm just in the mood for one now.

My Night of the Living Dead BD arrived a couple of days ago, fortunately not preceded by a card from Royal Mail saying I had a fee to play.

Hate to say I told you so, but the TT refusal to replace discs if they dissappear in the post is the reason I didn't buy NOTLD, its too much of a risk and the expensive guaranteed postage is a f*****g rip-off. :(

Cheers for the reply . I love it when a blind buy pays off.

For some reason, the picture on the right reminds me of the sit-com feature films of the 70's - 'Love Thy Neighbour', 'On The Buses' etc!

Except the Wild Geese killed their neighbours and never rode on buses!

Jinx_Barkman 10th October 2012 02:35 AM

Picked this one up for $4.99/£3.12 I haven't seen it yet but I'm hoping it's as good as The House Of The Devil.

I watched THE INNKEEPERS yesterday for the first time and can confirm Ti West hasn't lost his touch. It was a great watch, with lots of slow-building atmosphere and then all hell breaking loose at the end. Reminded me of HOTD quite a bit actually, despite the 2 stories being pretty different. These are about the only 2 horror movies I've genuinely enjoyed that have been made in the last few years.

Delirium 10th October 2012 08:18 AM

I didn't like The Innkeepers personally. Thought it was quite lazy for Ti West, and this coming from someone who loved HOTD. If anything it is HOTD-lite (I think I described it as Slacker meets HOTD once) but whereas HOTD is a wonderfully sinister exercise in tension, The Innkeepers felt like a safe comedy retread without any of the frights. All IMO of course.

keirarts 10th October 2012 08:31 AM

Alien 2 is a great disc. You will be amazed at how good a s****y italian monster movie can look, the films pretty bad, but in a bad-but-kinda-fun way.

Oh and the Blue underground House by the cemetary is a good pick as well, I love the extras on Arrows release but the actual picture quality was pretty poor.

I watched The Innkeepers for first time several days ago and wondered where it was going during the first act. However, when things settled down and the atmosphere and tension really began to build, I had a feeling it would be as good as House of the Devil and, due to the brilliant final act, it is and I really must pick up the BD.

I watched Livid last night as a Lovefilm rental and, as a big fan of Inside, I went in with high expectations which it thankfully met and, because it seems like a film which will improve on repeated viewings, is now in my wish list and a BD I will buy sooner rather than later.

Well it did take almost a month for my Halloween II & III discs to arrive...

Jinx_Barkman 10th October 2012 05:25 PM

Nice to hear mostly good things about The Innkeepers. I think I'll have a double feature night with it first and The Entity second.

demonknight 10th October 2012 05:34 PM

Waiting on atomic brain explosion dvd and pet cemetery bluray in the post.

What a night's viewing that will be!! That's a fab double bill.

Wes 10th October 2012 05:36 PM

I picked up Se7en on Blu today although it seems kinda boring to mention among the titles here... I must say though, in recent years it's passed out Fight Club in my estimation...it's seems an altogether more mature film.

Rik 10th October 2012 05:45 PM

And I'm still waiting on my Universal Monsters coffin, good job I've plenty of titles arriving before Halloween so my planned marathon isn't totally ruined
