The version I have from the Herzog-Kinski box set only has German audio (5.1 and 2.0 Dolby Digital), plus a commentary. Even if it had one, I don't think I'd watch it with the English track anyway, so it's a pretty good disc.

Nosferatu@Cult Labs 6th October 2012 04:14 PM

The set contains Aguirre: The Wrath of God, Fitzcarraldo, Nosferatu: Phantom der Nacht, Woyseck, Cobra Verde and My Best Fiend.

Considering you can buy it for under £20, it's really good value for money.

Picked up TRICK OR TREAT earlier. Never seen it but I remember the trailer on my old VHS of EVIL DEAD 2.

Pete it's a really good underrated 80s horror that i know SamCultlabs has been bugging Arrow to acquire for a while. the PQ aint great but it's still a cool film.

the problem with having an amazon app on my phone is that at 3am in the morning i'm sat in bed ordering stuff off amazon. Ordered these last night because they're apparently awesome film...

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...500_AA300_.jpghttp://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...500_AA300_.jpg

and ordered this because i only just found out the U.K release is cut by 30 minutes.

I've owned the ABUK disc of FITZCARRALDO for about 2 years now and still not got round to watching it for some reason! I hear it was quite a production... I bet its a great watch.

One thing that sticks in the mind from Herzog's NOSFERATU is the soundtrack; incredibly haunting music and complemented by superb gothic cinematography oozing with atmosphere, just how I like my horror :)

I'm desperate to see Bloody Moon!

Killer Nun is a very, very under-rated film, in my opinion.

Enjoy your films :)

picked these up today, the bare bones TCM2 was only 75p!! in CEX. I also got an old r1 SEVEN dvd, it's a flipper with half the film on each side, ah the good old days.

Sam 6th October 2012 06:07 PM

Picked up some cheap stuff today...

Xtro Trilogy - £4 used from Blockbusters
Children of the Corn IV - 99p from Cash Generator

Which store is that?

Demdike@Cult Labs 6th October 2012 08:02 PM

I don't think there's a Fopp anywhere near me.

The Beast in Space would be nice for a fiver.

An aside.. if you buy this and it doesn't play, make sure you have a formatted memory stick in the back of your blu ray player as on many people's players it won't play without one - mine wouldn't and I thought it was a disc fault. Something to do with it being memory intensive (no idea why, the menus aren't particularly impressive).

Anyway, disc looks nice IMO, but it comes down to how much you mind the tweaks (which aren't that bad if you ask me.)

If Manchester is the nearest for you then it will be for me unfortunately. By the time i've paid for petrol and parking it'd work out cheaper buying it online.

Hawkmonger 6th October 2012 08:06 PM

Yeah, but I have a free student travel pass. So a few more year's of milking the system before I buckle down and start paying. Nurnurnrnur!:car:

I'm in the process of acquiring the french DVDs bdc mentioned, as I was only able to buy The Vampire Collection 2DVD & The Curse Of The Crying Woman from Casa Negra, and I'm not paying a small fortune for DVDs...
I've received The Man And The Monster and already got a handful more on the way. No extras, as expected, but feature nice prints and they're digipaks. No english options, though, as bdc wrote.

Slippery Jack 6th October 2012 10:28 PM

Yeah that's a non starter for me I'm afraid. Not going to watch em not having a clue what is being said! Looks like the small fortune for Casa Negra is the only way :( I've got two titles on the way anyway, so that's a start, and good deal hunting is all part of the fun aint it . . .

bdc 6th October 2012 10:40 PM

You've already got 2 nice titles on the way so it's certainly a good start Jack, best of luck hunting them down. :)

I think some of those French dvd's are oop as well but can still be found for a reasonable price...

I ordered mine a long time ago direct from Bach Films (the label) and there were a couple already oop so they send me dvd-r's instead of dvd's (in an Amaray case instead of a digi) of those. ;)

Btw are the subs removable?
I don't remember but I suppose you will be watching them in Spanish Sobral?

This reminds me...I never picked up the French dvd's of the Aztec Mummy films because I had the US box set,I wonder if the French dvd's are better pic quality or the same?

Yes, subs are removable and I I'll watch them in spanish.
The Aztec Mummy will probably be next ;)
Apart from a couple of titles, all can be found at a nice price online.

Went to a house cause I had a tip from a friend that a guy was selling some dvds. In my humble opinion I scored big time. Couldn't believe it when the last dvd in the box was the Dead Snow steelbook. 3 bucks each.

£6.30 instore at HMV with student discount. Cheaper than online!

Refused 7th October 2012 11:14 AM

No more coffins in my HMV, but I bought the regular set. £10 extra is pretty steep just for a cardboard coffin anyway, it's not even big enough to bury my cat in.
