No not seem the wailing but heard Good things I'll have to look at the other two :thankingyou:, and I said to Sam about the handmaiden what you just said i'm sure odd scene been changed about .

Project A (1983, Jackie Chan)
JC's period romp is certainly different to the ones that I have seen so far. And he looks quite fetching in his sailor suit . The stunts are as always semi crazed in execution . Await sequel with baited breath

Honour And Glory (1993, Godfrey Ho)
A somewhat more sombre affair (visually) from the HK action man here. 2 sisters battle their differences and an assortment of henchmen:lol:, to find their common ground. Another great villain (wow, seriously :pound:). Overall there wasn't enough Cynthia in this Cynthia Rothrock film  ... but that just added to the lunacy. Must find out what else Donna Jason did methinks ....

Not in the slightest and its not your typical anime no children or angst ridden teens, magic or gaint robots etc it's all very down to earth. It's about two brothers who when they were kids believe they saw a UFO and this makes them want to become astronauts and goto the moon. While the younger brother years later has become one and is set to be the first the first Japanese man to set foot on the moon, the older brothers life went a different direction but after losing his job is giving the unexpected chance to follow his boyhood dream and his brother. Nicely acted for a anime and with a uplifting and inspiring story with some great characters and writing, a favourite anime that I have wanted for years.

Finally gotta hold of these guys.

The story is long and crazy. But I won't bore you with it

Inspired by Demdike pointing out the good DVD of Charade is at Music Magpie in the 2 for £2 section, I ordered these DVDs, £8 for the lot:
  • Charade
  • Beasts of the Southern Wild
  • Sophie's Choice
  • Higher Learning
  • Sherrybaby
  • The Blues Brothers/Animal House/Stripes
  • The Ultimate Charlie's Angels: 2 DVD Box Set
  • Men in Black I & II: 4 Disc DVD Box Set
The Sophie's Choice DVD isn't supposed to be up to much, but it's been years since I saw the film and it'll help me decide whether it's worth upgrading to one of the Blu-ray releases. If I do, I'll probably just give this to charity.

Picked up a Paddington 2 blu-ray for my wife. We're gonna watch it this afternoon. The first film genuinely made me laugh out loud at one point (Paddington's crazy hair). Also bought a blu-ray of Singin' In The Rain for just 4.99 off Amazon. This is arguably the greatest movie musical of all time and is quite a funny film. :) Luckily there was a free prime trial so not only am I not paying any delivery costs but it will arrive before 8pm today. Had a look at a youtube trailer and the film looks quite beautiful in high definition:

Just a quick caveat emptor. Paddington 2 kept freezing badly on our PS4 at around the 1 hr 4 mins mark. We couldn't finish watching it. Am curious to discover whether it's a bad batch or a peculiar PS4 incompatibility issue. btw My wife was very disappointed. :(

That's a shame, I got it on iTunes and watched it this weekend, it was fantastic. Hope that the discs aren't all faulty!

I will watch another blu-ray this evening just to check that it's not the actual player at fault (probably Singin' In The Rain since it has arrived). But that is an unlikely scenario. This is the 1st blu-ray that my PS4 couldn't play. What with all the regular software updates, it seemed like it was one of the best blu-ray players on the market. I felt pretty bad for my wife as she was really looking forward to finally seeing it. I left a thread on a certain blu-ray site asking if anyone else had encountered freezing problems and I'll be interested to read the feedback.

Deliveries from the weekend and today.

Justin101 13th March 2018 06:37 PM

These arrived from WowHD, they were around £6.50 each so 4 Hammer films for £13, the Maniac/Fanatic disc has been reviewed on DVD Beaver and the discs seem much better than the ones from last year!

Ordered 1985 whodunnit comedy Clue from wow hd. Cost a total of 5.75 only for the blu-ray edition. This will tide me over until the superior Murder By Death finally makes a high definition appearance. :)

I've been meaning to buy Clue for ages, I need to clear some backlog from my 'to watch' pile first!

Email to zombi@kochmedia.com with a proof of purchase, amazon invoice etc, you don't need to send the disc back.

My Zombi Blu ray replacement disc arrived today. That was really quick.
Thanks to Justin and Rik for the heads up on this.
If I had not seen the posts I would not have known about the replacement programme.

Maybe we should start a new thread just for Blu ray/ DVD replacement programmes for all labels as information gets swamped in the usual threads and you can miss the posts.

Thanks guys :thankingyou:

A real smorgasbord of stuff... the Shutter Island BD was £1.99 from Oxfam & those Marley headphones are just fantastic at £9.99 sale price at HMV (great for smatphone mobile use, by far the best I've heard) the Amy CD was 99p from BHF. Chuffed to bits to find Empire dvd for £1.99, good day all round.
