Picked up in the supermarkets today. Posted it all here as it's all movie related rather than in different threads.

I'm not the biggest Harry Potter fan, in fact i've never read any of the books bar the first fifty pages of the first and couldn't tell you what happens in which movie but i do love their interpretation of Christmas. It's the same as mine - Victorian, Dickensian, that sort of thing so the Hogwarts Christmas book was right up my street. The set design on the films is Hammer esq in it's staging.

The 40th anniversary Empire Strikes Back calendar is awesome for someone like me who ranks it a top five movie of all time. Excellent images used.

The Dalek book brings together all the TV Comic strips from the sixties, all lovingly restored on high quality paper.

Really like this. Doesn't skimp on the gore. Pretty nasty stuff.

An early Christmas present. From me, to me!

Demdike@Cult Labs 20th December 2020 10:36 AM

^ It was a very quick delivery from Amazon. I ordered late Friday night and it arrived before i got up this morning.

Odd, because in this hectically busy time of year for deliveries Amazon are quicker than ever for non-Prime members.

Nostalgic 20th December 2020 02:19 PM

Just ordered The Glass Key (Arrow, £7) from amazon.
Just waiting for Eureka's This Gun For Hire to drop in price

I thought i'd take a gamble on one of the remasters. If i think it's superior i'll probably (slowly) replace them all.

These have just arrived. I've only seen Four Weddings & a Funeral – I haven't seen The Mechanic remake or Annie Get Your Gun, though I watched Calamity Jane last week and thoroughly enjoyed it!

I have both The Mechanic and Annie Get Your Gun. Both enjoyable if vastly different in style. :xmaslol:

The Mechanic sequel is also worth a watch.

They were both blind buys from Music Magpie, only £1.50 each.

They would make a very peculiar double bill! :xmasnuts:

Thanks Dem. I’ve seen them all before apart from Eyewitness, New Years Evil and Grandmothers House which were blind buys. I hadn’t seen SNDN part 2 either but have since watched it and don’t plan on watching it again anytime soon [emoji1787]

I'm interested to know if Eyewitness is any good. I quite fancied it when Network announced it.

The acting is a bit ropey in places which adds to the charm lol. I really enjoyed it, some tense chase sequences and a great menacing performance from Peter Vaughan.

He the type that wouldn’t know that thing, like a lot of people they just want a film see it buy it, and because he updated it to blu ray. Either way can’t complain at being given that amount of dvd for free, I’ll keep the ones I haven’t got and out the others in the huge pile that’ll go for sale next year around March as a bulk load hopefully someone will buy in time to use for carboots .

Funny thing is Momentum actually did want to release it uncut at 18. BBFC said no and they had to trim it in a hurry that's why it is so badly done. Other than that a load of good stuff there.
