Probably because they paid more for it, and they don't want to admit that the cheaper local version is better.

Either that or they find it exotic that it's foreign

I've seen it two or three times and really like it – it's a quality film. However, it's very weird to live in a world where trailers now say 'From Oscar-winning director Gore Verbinski'!

Super Happy What films have you purchased recently

I had no intentions in buying anything today, but came back from the shops with Steptoe And Son boxset and HellRide plus rubber gloves and masking tape for those little odd jobs about the house.

Or maybe, it's just their actual opinion. Some people are more than happy with just the movie in the best available transfer, and it's entirely their prerogative. I doubt there's anything more to it.

The big question being, ARE we getting shafted? Does europe get the better deal with transfers over america and the united kingdom? Or is it the fact it took a lot more hassle to import/obtain a badge of honour. Its worth looking into imo, added to that the amount of stuff coming out over in europe that seems to miss us entirely.
