Picked these Dutch dvd's up today in a local shop (1 Euro each all brand new):

Xaviera Hollander, the Happy Hooker: Portrait of a Sexual Revolutionary (2008) (Mistook this for the 1975 film, thanks to the retitling on the cover, but it still looks interesting)

Frank en Eva (1973) (Dutch "scandalous" psychological sex film)

Pecker (1998) (John Waters-lite )

WIthIN (2005) (Retitled as The Cave,I thought it was the other 2005 film actually, and with fake actors on the cover! )

Sympathy for Lady Vengeance (2005)

Three... Extremes (2004)

She (1935) (Colorized and original b/w versions I suppose)

There is nowhere to escape the heat today, so we went to Waterlooville up on the hills for the breeze. To get there as non-drivers we had to catch a bus to Portsmouth's city centre where I noticed that the "Model Zone" shop is closing, the whole chain in fact! "20% off all sales" it said on the window so in I popped. I came out with this:

The "Daughter of Darkness" bought this model about a year ago in the same shop for about £30, today I paid £11.99. Cool, eh?

Alright so I 'ad t' carry a flamin' model around TK Max and all the charity shops in Waterlooville but I also found, in "Poundland,"
"Redcliff" and "Beyond Remedy"

My only charity shop purchase was
"Punisher: War Zone"
which I have heard mixed reviews about but I can't see it matching the first film. I'll 'ave t' tek me chances, eh?

Troggi - Punisher Warzone is easily the best Punisher film. Non-stop violent action. Great fun.

I've never read the comic though, its just the most entertaining film in my opinion.

"The Punisher" has it's ups and downs in comic form but it is mostly "ups" as far as I'm concerned. Frank is widely regarded as a "murdering psycho" by the majority of the tights and capes brigade which can make cross-over's very interesting!

One graphic novel has Frank being hunted by the aged female head of a "crime family". When they corner him in the Polar bear enclosure of Central Park Zoo the old lady goes after him and The Punisher thumps a surprised polar bear right on the jaw before escaping. The next page opens with a frame of the old dear ranting at her nephews from a hospital bed without her arms and legs after her altercation with the enraged bear! You could say that "The Punisher" is pretty brutal!

Glad someone else digs Punisher Warzone, I think it's an aggressively underrated modern comic book film.
