Didn't know that... be interesting to hear what the 'mystery' BD is when it arrives, Nos! :)

Pete 24th November 2011 06:58 PM

How do you order from their site? Everytime I log in it just tells you what they've released so far.

Just done the same Nos, thanks for the heads-up. I wonder what the mystery disc will be... how exciting :p Plus I'm really looking forward to both films. They each have brilliant reviews on imdb.com

Just filled a gaping hole in my BFI flipside collection:

All £8.99 a piece on Amazon at the moment.

Vampix 25th November 2011 03:13 AM

Recently bought:
Night of the Demon (Code Red DVD)
Turkey Shoot (Optimum DVD)
Don't Torture a Duckling (Shameless DVD)
Zombie (Blue Underground BD)

Nosferatu@Cult Labs 25th November 2011 07:11 AM

As I've had Deep End on orders for months and it doesn't look like it's going to be sent any time soon, I'll probably cancelled the order and buy the (much cheaper) dual format release.

Interesting that you went for the sex-less version of La bestia uccide a sangue freddo, pic quality isn't great but still an interesting version imho. ;)

bdc 25th November 2011 10:02 AM

Received my first order from DDDHouse... :)
Recommended btw.
Just ordered some cheap but fun ones to try them out. ;)

Deadly Camp, The (1999) (Wide Sight)
Naked Poison (Uncut) (2000) (Universe)
Demoness from Thousand Years (1990) (Wide Sight)

Nosferatu@Cult Labs 25th November 2011 10:17 AM

Did they ship them to you as a gift with a ribbon around the packaging and a whole array of Chinese stamps?

bdc 25th November 2011 10:21 AM

Yes,I also noticed that there's no shop mentioned on the package, just a private address. :thumb:

bdc 25th November 2011 10:28 AM

And...they ship registered which is incredible for the postage I paid, very good packaging as well.
Marking it as a gift means that I can order up to 45 Euro value. ;)
I paid less than 5 Euro including shipping for each dvd. :thumb:

Preparing to place another order...it's still November after all (no purchases for me in December I'm afraid).

Is there really not a single new Code Red release in December? ;)

Greetings!

Only picked it up as it was under £2 on Amazon. Didn't look around to see what other versions were available. Just had a look and yeah it's cut for sex and nudity, and some violence. Ah poo.

bdc 25th November 2011 10:57 AM

I've read the violence is intact but it's cut for sex,Il also have it because I wanted the more straight forward sex-less version (the sex scenes become distracting at times here I think :loco:).

Refused 25th November 2011 11:12 AM

Got Deep Red and Vampire Girl vs Frankenstein Girl in the post today.
Unfortunately Vampire Girl is region A locked, and I've quit the multiregion game for the time being, if anyone fancies trading for it or buying it feel free. :)

The famous last words of an DVDaholic. I should know, I've said something similar many times and completely failed to go that long without buying something!

Nosferatu@Cult Labs 25th November 2011 11:20 AM

I'm interested in Vampire Girl so could you let me know how much you paid and one for it?

Baseball Fury 25th November 2011 11:22 AM

Just pre-ordered Two-Lane Blacktop steelbook and Punishment Park dual-format from Eureka to get the free blu-ray, and I also ordered the Metropolis BD steelbook while I was there for £12 delivered.

No more buying until after Christmas now, although if Cars 2 is cheap at 6pm in the Amazon deals I'll have that too, haha

Ah good thinking, was wondering what "Blue lightning strikes again" was going to be. Glad you mentioned this because it's the only Pixar Blu I don't have yet. Was going to buy it in HMV but they only stock their exclusive Steelbook which I don't want cos it won't match the rest of the collection.

You'll love the Blu-ray of Witchfinder General - it's one of the best movies ever made, and one of the best Blu-ray releases of a 60s movie! :)

Greetings!

Did you pay £20 for Witchfinder General? I swear that was in the two for £15 deal in my local HMV

From the mighty eBay I picked up Peter Watkin's Culloden on VHS and an ex-library copy of Sexmission which comes in a weird lockable case and unfortunately has some stickers on the sleeve, but at £5 it's a bargain compared to buying it elsewhere.

From Amazon another two BFI Flipside releases Bronco Bullfrog and Here We Go Round The Mulberry Bush.
And this week I heard that Andy Milligan's Nightbirds is getting a release on the Flipside series under the supervision of Nicolas Winding Refn (apparently he won the 16mm print on eBay!) and a booklet with articles form Refn, Stephen Thrower and Milligan's biographer Jimmy McDonough  - cannot wait for this.

And in other news I finally managed to bag a Mondo Vision limited edition release of Zulawski's Szamanka

Cool, glad to know the transfer is good.

Not seen the film for a few years so I'm looking forward to seeing it again.
