I received this today:

It's a beautiful package. I think it might be what you all refer to as a "Mediabook"...?

I also got and ex-rental of this, as I have been interested in Paul Lynch's films recently:

And after a wait which made me wonder if it might have been lost in the post, I finally got this (also an ex-rental):

This weeks bits and bobs.

bizarre_eye@Cult Labs 18th February 2012 05:21 PM

I loved The Centerfold Girls, Dem.

A real gem of a film - pretty brutal in parts, too.

Its a film i have been meaning to order for ages, so with new releases being quiet at the moment i took the plunge a couple of weeks ago. May well watch it tonight.

Same here. I've never seen the movie but since Discotek are reissuing it in the States, I figured I'd give it a whirl. :D

I couldn't resist it as it is so cheap on Amazon.

Visitor (Code Red - uncertain, but one can hope)
Broken Embraces blu
Doctor Who - Day of the Daleks

bdc 20th February 2012 07:34 AM

If you like 70's-80's Italian genre films, you'll like Stridulum aka The Visitor (1979) I think. ;)
It's also the best dvd around of this one,I also have the Italian dvd and the Code Red has superior pic quality.
Both have the uncut international version featuring (an uncredited) Franco Nero in the opening sequence and more Sam Peckinpah and Glenn Ford amongst other things.

darthelvis 20th February 2012 11:14 AM

Awaiting payday patiently but plan to buy the Studio Canal Hammer releases.

mercury 20th February 2012 11:29 AM

Day of the Dead + Tenebrae bluray from Arrow:)

Thanks bdc:)

To be honest, I've been kicking myself for waiting on this one, especially now there seems to be problems with CR's distribution; I'll be lucky if I get this - Amazon is out and many CR titles on Axel are on order.

bdc 20th February 2012 01:51 PM

Yep all CR titles are currently harder to get it seems.

New arrivals... :)

Millionaires' Express, The - Remastered (1986) (Fortune Star/Joy Sales)
Royal Warriors - Remastered (1986) (Fortune Star/Joy Sales)

Bringer Of Funerals 20th February 2012 03:00 PM

Not a horror film but i bought Limitless and im in the small crowd here but i didnt like it, it lasted longer then it should have - half way it bored me

Rik 20th February 2012 04:13 PM

Quick question: My BD of Burial Ground:Nghts of Terror (Shriek Show) arrived today from a US seller on Amazon, its listed on Planet Axel, MovieTyme and on DVD compare as region all yet on the back it say region A. Can anybody confirm that it is indeed region all before I unwrap it because if it isn't and I have to sell it, I'd prefer it if it was still sealed?

Rik 20th February 2012 04:32 PM

Ignore my last post, after a bit of searching I've found that its just a misprint from Shriek Show, apparently its happened with a few of their dvds too :):woot:

Gamera Trilogy Blu-ray

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 20th February 2012 05:42 PM

Yesterday I watched.......

DRIVE-For once worthy of all the five stars reviews.
Not often you get a hero that looks like Rodney Trotter!

The French BD of ASSAULT ON PRECINT 13-
 Absolutely astounding transfer, has the extras from the SE and one of the best menu screens I've yet seen. The various TV spots play over it!

Superb!

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 20th February 2012 05:50 PM

Today I went to HMV and picked up DON'T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK only to find,to my dismay, the same shitty double play banner which graced Rolling Thunder!

Come on Studio Canal! Stickers please?

Anyway, armed with an INDUSTRIAL SIZED jar of Vaseline,I purchased REPO MAN steelbook.....anyone want to hedge a bet at how much I paid?:eyebrows:
