I love the original series. Absolutely superb for it's time. The Cylon ship attacks were used and reused but back then i didn't notice. You only have to compare the effects to what was on at the time as well. Take Doctor Who. It was really cheap compared to Galactica.

Oddly though i rewatched Space 1999 earlier this year and the effects on that were even better than Galactica.

Galactica 1980 wasn't as good but still perfectly decent entertainment.

The original series Cylon head box set sits proudly on my shelf.

I've seen the first series of new Galactica before but i sold the box set as i wasn't over keen if i'm honest. When i saw the complete series box set for £11 in as new condition i couldn't resist it.
