You won't regret it. It's a great little film with fantastic performances, especially from Geoffrey Rush.

Off for a little snack/shower now, just returned home and a bit tired.

Will post more details later. :)

OK...got these at work today...

Canon Powershot S3 IS (2,5 Euro) not tested (there were no batteries it would work on and no memory card/cables/manual.
I did get the original lens cap, neck strap and little Canon pouch to keep it stored in.

Put some new batteries in and it seems to work fine, will probably test some more tomorrow.

It's almost like new condition.

http://oi41.tinypic.com/2pphoac.jpg

http://oi40.tinypic.com/2mgtni8.jpg

And since this takes 4 AA batteries,I also picked this up (free):

Duracell CEF14EU Charger

http://i41.tinypic.com/2qbhqwo_th.jpg

Don't know yet if this will do for this camera though,I see a CBK4-300 charger and NB4-300 Battery Pack are recommended...

And then I picked up this:

Sony PlayStation 3 Gaming Console (free) in almost like new condition with no cables or anything.
Supposedly either "not working properly" or untested...
Will have to see tomorrow if I can revive this one.

I know a little about the PS3 but not that much so may need some help.

http://oi44.tinypic.com/qqokk9.jpg

Also picked up a Subsonic Pro Fluo Wireless Controller Rechargeable PS3 & PC (free),also in very good condition.
Controller seems to work (lights when I press a button) but haven't tested the connection yet (Bluetooth?).

I also got a free usb to mini usb cable to charge the controller's battery.
It has to be charged via usb.

No idea how this works or how the PS3 works as I've never owned a PS (1,2 or 3)

Will have to figure it out if the PS3 works.

Sorry if I rambled a bit but I am tired. ;)

Got a pretty good haul today!

First took a trip to the local market in the morning, and got:

3 for $5
Haxan (Criterion, Ex-Library copy)
Nightmare On Elm Street (25th Anniversary edition with cards)
Moby: Play (Dvd)

Cd $2
Nine Inch Nails - With Teeth

VHS $1
Barry Lyndon

And some Jurassic Park cards for 50c :tongue1:

Later went to go see Fright Night at the cinemas, only to find i was a month early for the Screening, so saw Jobs instead, and was pleasingly surprised, and bought the two best Korn albums at JB for a bargain $10 each :woot:

I like the version of Haxan narrated by William Burroughs though it isnt the 'proper' version.

Went over to the stall and some bastard was buying the 3d hobbit for a fiver, had a look and spotted the Die hard set, asked how much and he looked at it and said £4. Needless to say I snapped it up. I hate Die hard 5, but I wont get the first 3 on blu cheaper than that!

Mine too, although I'm gonna grab the Ghost in the Shell Stand-Alone series... Is there a decent release of Legend of the Overfiend ? I've waited years to see this !

Because he can't keep out, Die Hard 2 even though his wife was on the plane he had to get involved and if he hadn't it might have been over quicker, same as 4.0 he could have said no to the request.

Wes 29th September 2013 07:31 PM

There's this thing with the Die Hard films, at least the latest crop of films that if you're a Hollywood writer and you're struggling to tie your action script together, turn it into a Die Hard film, and bob's your uncle...

Its a series that should of stopped at the third one i know a lot of people think it should of stopped at two but i enjoyed the third in the series. 4.0 is not the worst action film but its time to stop.

I've read the bad thermal compound is the main reason, although there could also be other problems?

trebor8273 30th September 2013 05:52 PM

All fantastic movies, apart from the Blair witch project I really hate and dispise that film, but I enjoyed the others. How much was battle royale if you mind me asking, because I think that version is quite expensive now

Wes 30th September 2013 05:58 PM

Well Spartacus is one of the three greatest epics of the golden era - the other two are Ben Hur and King of Kings (and both are highly recommended on Blu). I know its been done to death, but the scene where the Kirk Douglas' eyes fill with tears as his men chant I'm Spartacus is genuinely moving stuff... Marc, listen out for Anthony Hopkins voice dubbing Laurence Olivier in the scene where Olivier tries to seduce Tony Curtis. Olivier's declaration of his bisexuality was a bit too daring back in the day so it was removed from the film for nearly 30 years. When the scene was restored the audio was damaged so Hopkins stood in for Olivier. Good job he did too...

Really ? WOW! You learn something new every day!

I've actually seen the first hour of it before and I was very impressed!

I forgot to put an asterisks at Woman in Black. I've not seen that.

I love Blair Witch Project and it's very under-rated sequel.

Let us know how Kotoko turns out when you catch it. I like Shinya Tsukamoto but I kinda passed on this one as it sounded a bit heavy...

trebor8273 30th September 2013 06:56 PM

What's mother of tears like is it deep red or Argento's Dracula or some place in between?

Bringer Of Funerals 30th September 2013 06:58 PM

I hate the Blair Witch Project - the armies should tie up terrorist and for torture make them watch it 4 times a day

Rik 30th September 2013 07:01 PM

Bugger all wrong with Blair Witch IMO
Mother of Tears is ok, certainly better than D****la 3D (see, I can't even bring myself to write it!) and the Card Player, but it's no Deep Red or Inferno etc.

Nordicdusk 30th September 2013 07:07 PM

I dont mind The Blair Witch Project at all. What killed it was all the hype about it when it came out. So many stories about it being real and stories of people passing out in the cinema with fear. It worked for the people making the film as it made money at the box office but in the long run it backfired because very few people have anytime for it now. If it just came out of nowhere as an independent film with no hype maybe people may of enjoyed it better. It was a long time after its release that i watched it so i knew that all the stories were fake so went in with a clear mind. Its not amazing but still an enjoyable effort.
