Another 'quiet' week for me!

Charity Shops:
Flags Of Our Fathers - 2 Disc Special Edition - £1:99 - I got this as the companion piece to the 'Letters From Iwo Jima' double set I got a few weeks ago
The English Patient - 2 Disc - £0:99
The Mighty Boosh Series 1 & 2 Box Set - £1:99 - I have never seen the show, but one of our regular customers has a son who has some kind of connection with 'The Boosh'

Poundworld:
Sherlock Holmes - Guy Ritchie version - £1:00

CEX:
WWE Cyber Sunday 2007 - £1:50

Oh, not a film, but I also got some gorgeous 'stripper heels', which are so high, I am comvinced I am going to fall over and break my neck the first time I wear them out!

I would be very surprised if it cost anything other than £1!

I was only pointing out the DVD cost £1 and Suzi bought it from Poundworld, hence my lack of surprise at the cost!

Finally got the Universal Monsters Legacy set for a reasonable price on eBay (£40), been after it for 10 years! The busts have never left the box and it's all in mint condition, looks great next to the BD coffin set :)

You were lucky to get Trans-Europe-Express and Successive Slidings of Pleasure at that price because they are now back up near the £20 mark.

Fortunately, The Flesh and Blood Show is still available at £8.95, so I just ordered it.

Yeah I paid 16 for trans last week.

local Poundland had a load of these Golden Compass 2disc editions, worth a pop for £1.

(and anyway, anything that pisses off the right-wing religious bigots in the U.S. has to be watched:lol::lol:)

The Visitor has a reversible cover too Reaps. Unfortunately, they decided to use both new "mondo" posters for this one. Here's what's on the reverse.

I've always enjoyed An American Werewolf in Paris. I saw it at the cinema and subsequent viewings have proved just as enjoyable.

I admit as a sequel to the greatest werewolf film ever it falls well short, but given a different title i'm sure it would have had more fans.

This is the R1 box-set.

Now I know theres a blu-ray set out in the states but this was £18 and has a nice little bonus disc with an interesting documentary on. Not as comprehensive as crystal lake memories perhaps but it's one I never got round to buying as I was always waiting for that better release that never came.

The good news for all you fans is now i've bought it, they will probably release all the films uncut.

Does not matter. Finally scored a decent job. It's in a call center but no selling. answering the phones to provide citizens advice. Finally a 9-5 job.

Might even be able to afford that criterion Zatoichi box set i've been perving over.

Congratulations on the new position Keirarts.

I have that set. I like it and watch the films regularly. The extras as you say are fine. Especially the commentaries. Shame they aren't on every film though.

Ta!

Personally i'm not too bothered about the recent blu-ray release. I've been told some of the transfers are none too great where as all these look fine on upscale as well. As you said commentaries ect. make it well worth picking up imo

Lethal Weapon Collection and Fantastic Mr Fox arrived from Play.

I also bought You're next, Rush and Escape Plan on my way home.

DEADLY BLESSING is £8 in the arrow store (thanks for the heads up Suzi!), FROGTOWN is also back in stock. Bough TCM2 from HMV the other day, what a gorgeous package and the film grows on me each time I watch it. Found SUBSPECIES for £7 in cex - great film, very atmospheric like a modern Hammer horror, shame the AV is pretty poor! The 2 Raro's were bought in their buy one get one free flash sale the other day. They've both shipped today despite DOLN having a street date of MAY 6th !? Nice one Raro!

bizarre_eye@Cult Labs 28th March 2014 08:43 PM

I also ordered Deadly Blessing via Arrow's store (thanks Suzi!)

The Fiend is British horror sleaze at it's finest. Definitely a bargain.

I love Criterion but you should have got the Studio Canal of Le Cercle Rouge as the Criterion has incorrect colour-timing.

As much as I love Vol. 1, I've always found Vol. 2 the superior of the two.
