I did -- Return of the Creeps was absolutely brilliant with slugs that are straight out of Shivers and a feeling of Return of the Living Dead (that's a compliment by the way). I can see myself watching it many times in the future and that's not including listening to both commentaries and going through all the extra features on the BD.

i saw the TV version and the blu contains some episodes uncut.
Wonder how much stronger they are.

Gojirosan 26th November 2010 11:32 PM

I'm waiting for Peeping Tom too! Can't wait!

pedromonkey 26th November 2010 11:53 PM

watched Step Up 3 on blu today and while it's a horrendous film, it looked fantastic, thank god i didn't pay for it. Waiting on Evil Dead 2 and Terminator 2, real man films....

Stephen@Cult Labs 27th November 2010 01:26 AM

WHAT HAVE YOU SEEN/BOUGHT ON BLU-RAY RECENTLY and CAN YOU RECOMMEND IT?

I'm going to pay for Step Up 3. :D

I don't know whats extra as I never saw any of them before getting it.

Some of the episodes are listed as being extended and some of them say they are enhanced but what they have done I don't know.

Only buying it for the 3D version that I can play with my eventual 3D tv/blu-ray player purchase (whenever that may be), and because I own the 2nd film. :o

Sargento 27th November 2010 03:46 PM

Yahoo my ..

Shogun Assassin BD/DVD Steelbook

arrived today! Lovely package ... will thow it in the player in a bit and see what it looks like!

Why do steel books always have the synopsis/specs sheet on the back which just falls off when you open it? Annoying as there is nowhere to store it in the case!

Grrrr!

It's on a 2 film budget DVD. I've always wanted to see it and it was only 50p.
Just checked it now though, doesn't even play. :(

Bugger! It is a fun little no-budget slasher tho Argy ... not that it helps! Have you tried it on different players? PC etc

Yeah I tried it on 2 players and the same thing happened. It gets to the menu and when you select "play" the player ejects it. Ah well, it was only 50p. :D

Argentofan 27th November 2010 05:21 PM

Also just bought

Death Laid An Egg

Argentofan 27th November 2010 06:34 PM

Never mind.

Nosferatu@Cult Labs 27th November 2010 06:39 PM

I forgot to add this when it arrived, but I have bought The Guillermo del Toro Collection on Blu-ray and look forward to a triple bill of Cronos, The Devil's Backbone and Pan's Labyrinth -- three of my all-time favourite films with two of them in my top 50 horror movies list (I count Pan's Labyrinth as a fantasy film rather than a horror).

re.form 27th November 2010 08:47 PM

Race with the Devil. I haven't seen it since I watched on BBC2's 'moviedrome' when I was a kid, so looking forward to seeing it again.

bdc 27th November 2010 08:57 PM

Ooh,I like that one! :)
Which disc did you get?

re.form 28th November 2010 12:59 PM

Just an R2 vanilla one I think.

bdc 28th November 2010 01:17 PM

I also had the vanilla one first. ;)
The oop US one also has a docu.

bizarre_eye@Cult Labs 28th November 2010 07:52 PM

Pre-ordered Arrow's Les Diaboliques from Amazon, which is due to be released in March 2011. Really looking forward to this one.

bdc 28th November 2010 08:06 PM

Will get that one as well... ;)
Curious that this and Spirits have had no bd release announcement in France yet.

nekromantik 28th November 2010 09:53 PM

Bought Crazies remake blu for £6

bdc 29th November 2010 06:36 PM

I went to Asda to pick up Step Up 3D, Yeah? so? :D but as usual, they didn't have it, nor did Tesco, so I consoled myself with Zombieland and Let The Right One In.

bdc 29th November 2010 06:44 PM

Step Up 3D?
To each his own I guess. ;)
Haven't seen Zombieland yet but I liked Let The Right One In.

I bought all the image Metzger stuff when they came out, the only two I kept were Camille 2000 and The Lickerish Quartet (hope this gets the blu treatment).

Have you seen Score yet (or before)? It's not a film I particularly want to see again. If I realised the subject matter I never would have purchased it.

bdc 29th November 2010 07:13 PM

First off,I have my doubts about Step Up 3D...

I haven't seen Score yet but wanted to check it out...I'm curious. ;)
Camille 2000 and The Lickerish Quartet are both going to be released on bd.

I'll give it one thing. When I went to see that awful Clash Of The Titans remake, the 3D in the Step Up trailer blew away Clash. I thought something was going to fly out and hit me!
