What's the difference between a pant suit and a suit Aren't the pants part of the suit? It's like me saying I'm going to whip up an egg omelette . . .

I may be completely wrong, but I thought a 'pant suit' or, in Britain, a 'trouser suit' is the description used to differentiate a woman's smart attire which is usually a smart, dark skirt and matching jacket.
