I lied about this month's budget being blown. I splashed 50p on this. I'm always up for a bit of Rebecca Hall and i remember liking this when i saw a bit of it on the telly.

Slightly belated late December, Christmas and early New Year haul. Mainly a lot of the typical new or recent releases from the likes of Arrow, 88 Films, Eureka, etc, but of note, a trio from Mondo Macabro, including two I really should have seen or owned before now, Alucarda and The Girl In Room 2A, a monster Diabolik haul including my first Arrow US release, the second wave of Vestron's very swish releases, a bit too much Code Red for my wallet, Jonathan Rigby's Euro Gothic book I got for Christmas, a replacement regular Feast set after my Shock And Gore set arrived damaged and Third Window Films' Toshiaki Toyoda: The Early Years, which is a lovely package. I have a few other things too, but fear I'm pushing it already for the amount of images. I'll save those for next week.

Lunch time grab from BHF charity shop for £2.99 (nice to catch-up with Heretic and III, interesting to see the prequels back to back too) and miraculously the box is near mint...

Should be noted that the UK set is only 5 discs, not the 6 disc including the 'you've never seen' version of the original film that seems included in the US R1 set, but I picked up that version of the first film for £1 in CEX so no big loss.

If you haven't seen it before or it has been a long time, treat Heretic as a comedy for best results!

Charity shop purchases. Dvd's £1 each, Sabrina box set £4. CEX are offering £10 cash/£14 exchange for it so that's good. Although i do aim to watch it first as the odd episode i saw many moons ago was quite enjoyable.

I actually sat in a cinema and watched this in '77, to me it's just another mid-late 70s dodgy film with major stars (Richard Burton!!!) that leaves you scratching your head and going "WTF was that?" tho I do find Heretic campy fun and had a crush on Ms. Blair at the time.
