Can't wait to see the Inspector's list.

It'll probably involve Carry On films and Laurel and Hardy.

This is my main problem when it comes to purchasing discs.

I just can't limit myself to one or two genres/labels with my collection, no matter how strict I try to be with myself. Plus, being multi-region makes it worse in a lot of ways, to the extent that I can understand someone who wishes to stay 'region-locked' - almost an exercise in self-restraint and buyer's chastity

Unfortunately liking a lot of stuff, being both in the market for BD and DVD (although most releases are either double-play or BD and DVD nowadays so outside of a few TV shows and Network / Shameless releases my DVD buying is pretty much zero - thankfully), being multi-region, on a budget, and getting in on the Blu-ray format a little later than most, has resulted in a long wish-list that grows faster than it shrinks most of the time. Despite the need for prioritising, budgeting and sacrificing it's all good fun though and I enjoy it immensely - the buying, the collecting, the watching, the announcements etc. otherwise I just wouldn't bother.

Nuclear war, maybe, but the proxy wars fought between the East and West during the Cold War (the Greek Civil War, the Korean War, the Vietnam War and the Soviets battle against the US-backed mujahedin in Afghanistan which all pitted the US against the USSR, plus the US-backed insurgencies in Nicaragua, El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras against 'Communist' governments or popular parties, largely supporting military dictatorships instead) left countless dead and missing.

Anyway, enough about that, so

I know it's 'old news' now what with being last week's topic, but this literally just popped up on my Letterboxd feed and I couldn't not post it.

It's a list posted by one of my LB followers titled 'There is No Such Thing as a Guilty Pleasure' and it links to an article titled 'The Complex Psychology of Why People Like Things' (I've no idea if the article is just some click-bait grab bag of high school psychology or actually a little bit of food for thought - I haven't read it yet). I thought it worth mentioning here anyway though based on our numerous discussions and pontificating last week.

Dont get me wrong i love most genres of film but financial and space restrictions dictate my purchases especially when i went multi region i went a little trigger happy with Scream Factory

I would have said Rambo 2 and Missing In Action 2 would have been the better fit for war films. Though not necessarily the better films.

I was going to put Das Boot over Red October but as much as I love the former, if I was going to choose between the 2 which to watch i'd pick the latter.
