I think there is a general story arc throughout the second season regarding Mitch and his son, but each episode is generally a self-contained story. It isn't like The Sopranos, The Wire, Battlestar Galactica, or True Blood in that sense, and more like Star Trek or The Simpsons. There may be back stories for characters who have been in for several seasons if you were to jump in at season six, but I wouldn't think it is something where you can't catch up quite easily.

Sorry, but...define 'cool'

When I was at school (late 70's/early 80's), the 'in-bands to listen to' were Madness and The Jam. Me - I was listening to the NWOBHM. I was not cool

In my late teens, when all my 'friends' were going out on a Saturday night, nightclubbing, I was staying at home, watching 'Doctor Who' on telly. I was not cool

During my 20's, when my peers were going to raves, and chugging back the 'E's', I was having nothing to do with drugs and working evenings at a cinema. I was not cool

During my 30's, when people of my age were getting married and having children, I was living as a woman. I was not cool

During my 40's, when people I was at school with had settled down and were enjoying life, I was involved in 'adult' films, and living on the streets. I was not cool

When it comes to films, as far as I am concerned, the epitome of cool is this film. Other than that...WHAT IS MEANT BY COOL?

Cool is probably a bit like funny, inasmuch as it is very subjective.

That said, you have no arguments about Charlie Croker from me. Others who popped in mind are Marlon Brando in The Wild One, James Dean in Rebel Without a Cause, Steve McQueen in Bullitt (and The Great Escape), Brad Pitt in Fight Club, Bill Murray in Ghostbusters, Christina Ricci in The Opposite of Sex (and The Addams Family), Harrison Ford in the Indiana Jones movies, Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's and Sigourney Weaver in Alien (and the sequels).

If you honestly don't know then i'd sit this one out then. Only you would be this awkward.

To me a cool movie moment is something you'll never forget. A part of a film, not necessarily our favourite films, but a moment you loved, or a moment that defined your love for films.

Yes but they are cool actors or roles not moments in movies.

However, bear in mind that this is a list of cool moments as opposed to cool characters though.

Just because a character could be classed as 'cool' it doesn't necessarily mean that you could name a cool scene with them in.

I think the term 'cool' is muddying the waters a little and if people maybe think of it more as their greatest, stand-out, or their most favourite moments/scenes in cinema then I think they could easily post a list (*cough* Suzi )
