Thats why the film came in for so much flak because they used American tanks (Pattons) and pretended they were Tigers.
There are numerous historical inaccuracies, from the timeline to the weather, the absence of such hugely influential figures as General Patton and the complete absence of such battalions as the 'Black Panthers' and omitting the British contribution to the battle entirely, not to mention misrepresenting the final tank battle, when the German Tiger tanks had already run out of fuel or had no support.

I knew by reputation that The Battle Of The Bulge is inaccurate but, as I did with Fury, watched it as something which is, to a certain degree, inspired by real events, hoping it would encapsulate the essence of tank warfare. This is something I thought it did exceptionally well.

Musician Films

Almost Famous (2000)
Laurel Canyon (2002)*
Anvil: The Story of Anvil (2008)
24 Hour Party People (2002)
Still Crazy (1998)
School of Rock (2003)
Singles (1992)
Trick or Treat (1986)
Permissive (1970)
Black Snake Moan(2006)

And for my #11 - The Banger Sisters (2002) - Cos every musician needs groupies.

For the purpose of this top 10 i've left out Deep Red as i don't consider it a musician movie. I've also left out the likes of The Blues Brothers as it's a musical.

I'm too lazy to search for my DVD, but I know there were quite a few scenes with tin toy tanks in it. They still look better than most CGI these days, but you can tell they were fake and small.

I don't say that Battle of the Bulge is a bad film, but if anyone, like Nos, uses adjectives like 'compelling' and 'superbly made' to describe said film, I have to disagree.

A really well-made war film that also includes (fake) Tigers is A Bridge Too Far. You'll have to deal with Connery's accent, though.

I completely forgot about the James Stewart classic The Glenn Miller Story. That should have been number 2 in my list.

Then there's the Kirk Douglas film Young Man With a Horn. That should also be in the top 10.
